Here's the full details of what the patch for PS3 does/changes to make this pretty difficult game a bit easier:
A new Super Easy Mode adds a Drink Assist to the previously existing Easy Mode. This gives you a special drink item on each stage. By drinking this you can scale three blocks instead of just one in one go.
The pillows you pick up in a stage give you an extra retry. With this patch that remains the same in Hard Mode. In Normal each pillow equals two retries. It's three in Easy Mode.
If all this sounds way too easy, you can block the effects of the patch by holding R3 and L3 at the title screen, says Andriasang. If you ask me, Super Easy Mode sounds waaaaay too easy now.
