Opening a treasure chest as Ganondorf felt wrong

During a Nintendo showcase event at PAX Prime, I wanted to say "screw it" and just play Hyrule Warriors for an hour (or more) but with only two demo stations available and lots of other nice games media types eager to ch...

Hyrule Warriors is more Warriors than Hyrule

You knew that upcoming Wii U title Hyrule Warriors would be a blend of Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors and Nintendo's Legend of Zelda. But I'm here to tell you that the gameplay is much more like Dynasty Warriors than I thought it would be. Not that that's a bad thing. The Zelda side is like the yummy icing on the top.

New Link to the Past for 3DS focuses on vertical gameplay

Nintendo announced a sequel of sorts set within the same world as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and I got to play it yesterday. Nintendo wouldn't tell us ANYTHING about the game, though. Nothing about how it fits i...

The incredibly immersive world of Zelda: Skyward Sword

One thing I haven't really had a chance to get into in my last couple of previews of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is how much more immersive the entire world actually is compared to past Zelda games. In some ways, it's ...

The first dungeon of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

In our last look at The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, we were introduced to the floating city of Skyloft and Link's obstacles towards knighthood. We met Zelda again as we would meet any old friend, yet she was soon taken aw...

Don't be afraid of heights in Zelda: Skyward Sword

Seriously, I would just love living in the world of Skyward Sword. Look at how Link and Zelda just jump off the cliff without any fear. I don't know if I'd be able to trust the birds like that to catch me, but I guess I'd ha...

The first two hours of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Recently, I was given the esteemed privilege of spending a full day playing the latest in a long and legendary line of a beloved Nintendo franchise. I was ushered into a room with a few other journalists, sat in front of one...

E3: Hands-on with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

I was so hypnotized (LIKE A COBRA!) by the full orchestra playing Zelda music at the Nintendo press conference this morning, that I didn't really get a chance to concentrate on all the new footage shown of The Legend of Zelda...

Hands-on: Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3Ds's Master Quest mode

Being a huge Zelda fan myself, I can’t tell you how stoked I was to hear I had a chance to preview the 3DS remake of what is possibly the Nintendo 64’s most well-known title, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. ...

Ocarina of Time 3DS 'much closer' to original vision

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64 was one of the best games ever created. Not many people will argue with that statement. However, something that even the most hardcore Zelda fans will agree with is tha...

Hands-on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (3DS)

If you read Destructoid regularly, chances are you’ve played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, probably in one sitting on your Nintendo 64 back in 1998... because it's that good. If you haven’t, what’s w...

Chugging along with Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

I have to indulge in a little narcissism right: not only did I get farther along in the second dungeon of Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks than any other journalist who previewed the game, I had all of Nintendo congratulate me ...

E3 09: Hands-on with The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

I am going to stand up on my chair right now and shout it to the world: I think The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is the best Zelda game since undisputed classic Ocarina of Time. Do I adore Wind Waker? Oh my goodness, ye...

E3 2007: Hands-on with Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

If you’ve ever listened to my podcast, you’ll know that Zelda: Twilight Princess left me thoroughly unpleased. I’m certainly not going to bring that argument up again here, but know that I’m no longer looking forward to the next Wii installment.Thankfully, I can still get my Hyrulian adventure fix with the uber cute, Wind Waker sequel on the DS.Is it fun? The Smash DOJO recap: Play as Giga Bowser without hacks!

If you haven't guessed by now, I am a huge fan of the Smash Bros series. Just like with Halo 3, Masahiro Sakurai and crew are going to tease their fans until the games are finally out. Personally, I would love to post ...
