Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor looks not so good on Xbox 360 and PS3

I completely forgot Monolith was working on last-generation ports of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The studio delayed the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game to ... today. It's available for a full $59.99...

Dragon Age: Inquisition launch trailer will make you want to play Dragon Age

This launch trailer for Dragon Age: Inquisition isn't short on anything. It doesn't skimp on gorgeous shots of the expansive universe. It has plenty of the ferocious winged serpents that adorn the franchise's namesake. ...

Battlefield 4's Final Stand DLC channels Battlefield 2142

This trailer for Battlefield 4's Final Stand DLC, like many Battlefield videos before it, makes me want to play the series. They're packed full of cool moment after cool moment that you could, in theory, encounter yourself i...

How does Titanfall on Xbox 360 for $5 sound?

[Update: They're already out-of-stock, so go on back to not getting Titanfall for really, really cheap.] Sure, the Xbox One or PC versions got the most love. Yeah, the lobbies probably aren't jumpin' jumpin' anymore...

Far Cry 4's alternate ending only takes a half hour to access

Alternate endings are a fascinating way to put a non-canonical spin on the tales that we know and love. Sometimes it's a silly and light-hearted Pentagon piefight. Others are grim, like Dante taking a bullet to the chest on ...

Hyper Light Drifter developer says resolution 'doesn't matter' for 2D games

Hyper Light Drifter looks pretty rad, and part of that is due to the cool looking 2D style. Recently developer Alex Preston responded to a question regarding a 1080p resolution for the game, and had this to say, "Our game is ...

Max outs Kevin Spacey as sassy and mean while we play Advanced Warfare

Max and I were trudging along in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, when I shared a gut feeling that Kevin Spacey is not a very nice person. Max proceeded to share a story related by an ex-girlfriend, who had her adoration of Spacey crushed by that rude, kissy man.

Hot Hot Heat: Heists are finally coming to GTA Online soon

Rockstar's been notably tardy on its delivery of the much-anticipated heists to Grand Theft Auto Online. In fact, the delay was so great that most players wrote the feature off as a promise that would go unfulfilled. That's n...

Review: Far Cry 4

Far Cry 3 was one of my favorite games of 2012. It didn't stray too far from the normal sandbox conventions set before it, but gallivanting around beautiful island vistas and flying about with wingsuits was pretty damn fun. For some that wasn't enough, though, and for those folks, Far Cry 4 won't be enough either. But for me, it's still pretty damn fun.

Toys R Us Black Friday: Still no great Wii U deals

If you're looking to pick up a Wii U this black-weekend-and-also-the-preceding-Thursday, you should probably stay in and scour digital deals (or "digideals," as we call them). You should probably do that anyway, but you shoul...

Roller coaster crashing game ScreamRide will be budget priced

Frontier Developments' ScreamRide is a game about building and crashing roller coasters and while I'd prefer to play something like that on PC (or just scratch that itch in RollerCoaster Tycoon where I can also charge people ...

Review: Assassin's Creed Rogue

Ever since its 2007 debut, the Assassin's Creed franchise has been presented as a one-sided affair. Chronicling the persistent struggle between the Assassins and the Templars, Ubisoft has always framed the story casting ...

First video lands from Telltale's Tales from the Borderlands

Maybe Activision's new Tony Hawk game should be called Boarder Lands. A little bit of piggybacking, like when they named the newest Call of Duty after the Nintendo handheld classic Advanced Wars.  Taking a break fr...

While playing CoD: Advanced Warfare, we posit that Nintendo hates condoms

We're now reaching the point in our Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare play session where Max thinks critically about the game's narrative mechanics and then we talk about condoms for like five minutes.

Max and I have hippie liberal hipster opinions about CoD: Advanced Warfare

Max and I were playing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare while hungover, and started devolving into dumber and dumber jokes, and then Max busts out a term like "jingoistic proto-fascism" because we're a couple of San Francisco hipsters who definitely don't have informed, individually refined opinions about things because the world is a vampire and everything is fake.
