Before it does, I'd like to share some of the highlights from the last four developer diaries Harebrained Schemes has posted leading up to the title's launch.

Neverending Nightmares is eerily evocative, and set for release on September 26

It's certainly an exciting time to be an independent game developer. With the rise of Kickstarter allowing anyone with the knowledge, the skills, and an idea to find support, we're seeing a larger breadth of games come out th...

Extrasolar Season 2 is being funded through Kickstarter

I do not envy Lazy 8 Studios with the balancing act it has trying to market Extrasolar. By revealing too little, only a relatively small demographic will ever try out the exoplanet rover simulator. By revealing too much, a t...

Paradigm is a point-'n'-click game starring sloths and mutants

While adventure games are doing as well as ever, there's still not too many that hark back to the classic era games like Day of the Tentacle. They used to be really weird! Jacob Janerka's Paradigm seems to emulate that style...

Warlocks takes its cooperative fantasy brawling to Kickstarter

Risk of Rain was pretty cool, so anything that reminds me of that catches my attention. Warlocks looks to have a similar feel in some ways, bringing frantic 2D battles to a fantasy world. I typically shy away from fantasy in...

Band Saga looks like the Audiosurf of isometric shooter action

Nefarious 'gamifies' kidnapping the damsel in distress

Inspired by the likes of Earthworm Jim and Mega Man, Nefarious sticks with platformer tropes, with one inversion: you are kidnapping princesses. And each princess you kidnap changes how your character controls and ...

Shovel Knight looks great in 16-bit, Aegis Defenders just looks great

Oh my goooddd. How did I miss this until now? It's like a Nausicaa game. Thank you sir Shovel Knight for making a cross over appearance (above) in Aegis Defenders, which is how it came to my attention.  The Kickstarter already passed its initial funding goal and its PS4 stretch goal. Local co-op and a Wii U version are up next. Here's hoping. This looks amazing.
