I pissed off a bunch of Bloodborne's villagers right quick

Maybe it shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but the beings hanging out in the Tokyo Game Show showing of Bloodborne weren't exactly enamored by my presence. That's putting it lightly. Cautiously trekking through the v...

There's going to be a Bloodborne alpha

Seeing the words "Bloodborne" and "alpha" together instantly cured my morning grogginess, but the feeling was fleeting: the "small-scale test" is only meant for European gamers, currently. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe h...

Sony isn't sure anyone will beat Bloodborne's TGS demo

Bloodborne producer Masaaki Yamagiwa tweeted, translation via Dual Shockers, "Let's prepare a prize for those that beat the boss in the demo of Bloodborne at Tokyo Game Show! Now that I selfishly said this, Kitaon w...

Bloodborne is releasing in Japan on February 5

From Software's (Dark Souls) Bloodborne is coming to PS4 in Japan on February 5, 2015.  Given that we expected an early 2015 release for Bloodborne globally, hopefully we won't have to wait too long after that for the North American release.

Review: Dark Souls II: The Crown of the Old Iron King

While Dark Souls II brought me back to that special place that I found with Demon's Souls in many ways, the first DLC pack, Crown of the Sunken King, didn't go far enough with its concepts. It's really hard to give ...

When From Software announced the three-part Lost Crowns DLC for Dark Souls II, it all seemed so far away. But here we are, already on the second release. Time is flying. Crown of the Old Iron King hits today on Steam, PlaySta...

Check out new direct-feed Bloodborne gameplay

Last week, I got to go hands-on with Bloodborne. This visually evocative and bleak follow-up to Dark Souls II is a change of pace, but also something that feels and plays very much like the games of the past. While the change...

Bloodborne is bleak and unforgiving

It seems like yesterday when we were all huddling around the mysterious WebM videos floating around the internet. Showing a strange and unknown game resembling a Souls title, many people didn't know what to make of it. The ch...

Bloodborne's HUD has dedicated healing items in their own slot

In a gamescom behind-closed-doors showing, we got a good explanation of what is going on in Bloodborne's HUD. That top red bar is a health gauge, and the green one underneath it is a stamina gauge. Nothing new there except fo...

Bloodborne's new gameplay trailer confirms that we all need it in our lives

Bloodborne is looking as good as ever, coming off of a new gamescom trailer reveal from Sony. Plenty of gameplay is shown, and one of the major things I'm noticing is the enhanced engine, and how well it does with particle e...

Fresh off its new Crown of the Sunken King DLC, From Software has updated and tweaked Dark Souls II for everyone. Weapons have been balanced (with extra or decreased damage depending on the item), and spells have be...

Review: Dark Souls II: The Crown of the Sunken King

2014 has been very good to me, but Dark Souls II is one of my favorite games of the year. Many debates have raged on as to whether or not it's as exceptional as its predecessor (Demon's Souls is better than bot...

One week to go: More Dark Souls II DLC screens while we wait

The last batch of images for Crown of the Sunken King left me anticipating this Dark Souls II DLC which is, oh good, only a week off. There's more where that came from. Using an item acquired in the DLC, players will reach th...

You can get your hands on Bloodborne at gamescom

Watching is one thing, but playing? Mmm. If you want to get your hands on From Software's next action-RPG -- and chances are you do -- you'll need to book a flight to Cologne, Germany for this year's gamescom in August. That'...

Our personal game of the show picks for E3 2014

You saw our E3 2014 Game of the Show. It was Metal Gear Solid V. Saved you a click.  Now, it's a good one. In fact, I wrote about why it was our Game of the Show in that very post you just didn't click. But E3 was full o...
