Castlevania: Rondo of Blood coming to Virtual Console photo

... in Australia.

The OLFC ratings board, which rates videogames for the former penal colony, has recently rated the classic Castlevania title for that country. The original game has never been released in North America, except as an unlockable in Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for the PSP. So, I hope all you Aussies appreciate it.

Konami seems to have all but abandoned the Virtual Console in the United States and I wouldn't expect that to change, even for what's one of the very best games the series ever produced. Still, that PSP port wasn't bad and only takes a few minutes to unlock, so Americans can at least enjoy that version.

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

Son of a bitch. Konami USA has stated that they don't care about the Virtual Console anymore, so I doubt we'll ever see this. And the one on PSP is pretty good, but it has some minor issues - it's not perfect emulation like the stuff on VC is.

What cockteases. Still missing the original Contra, Castlevania Bloodlines, and Contra Hard Corps on VC as well. And I guess Dracula X for SNES but that's a half-remake of Rondo anyway.

Wait, what do you mean Konami has forgotten about the virtual console. What about all those Rebirth games including the Castlevania one. I'm confused.

@BalloonFighter:
Those are brand new games, not Virtual Console re-releases.

Konami has given the Virtual Console(WiiWare) an awesome, albeit short, Contra game in Rebirth and they are set to release a Castlevania game in the same vein. I'm fairly sure these two games, along with other Konami Virtual Console titles, are hugely successful, so why would Konami jump ship?
I don't get it, Conrad? Any ideas?!

Did you really need to mention that second part... even in jest? For fuck's sake.

Hmm. The last two games published in the US by Konami for the service were Life Force (Feb. 16th) and Detana!! TwinBee (March 23rd).

I was under the impression that it was Hudson Soft who were moving away from the VC, but even that company has published 3 old-school games this year.
