Hardcore gamers, get ready to cringe and squirm in your seats... they're planning on doing something completely new with Castlevania on the big screen. That doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be a bad thing, but if you're going to go a completely different route could they please use a completely different name? Talk about bait and switch! According to an article published in Filmwad the writers and directors are taking an origin Dracula story and tossing in the Belmonts. Jeremy Bolt confesses that they are "adding a whole new spin" and “The whip is in it at the moment". At least they have the basics down. Whether game elements will have token cameos or be integral to the film is still unseen. Even if the movie completely ends up sucking, I'm fairly certain that we'll at least get a new decent Castlevania soundtrack out it. Unless they hire and Elton John and Phil Collins to do the title track.

I love the idea of a Castlevania movie though. Sounds really exciting!!
