I want to be excited for MercurySteam and Kojima Production's Castlevania: Lord of Shadows, I really do.
This image of one of the game's vampires, despite his lack of clothing and bathing habits, is helping things a bit. David Cox, a producer at Konami, does point out that it's only a vampire. No, Count Dracula hasn't gotten a disgusting making. I certainly expect him to be a bit more dignified.
I'll admit that Lord of Shadows keeps falling off my radar, because when you use the words "3D" and "Castlevania" in the same sentence I black ou--adljk;..
Yeah, what was I saying again? Oh yeah, I think what I was trying to say is that I'm "cautiously optimistic." That's what they say, right? What do you think?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
hopefully the latter...
Sure this isn't my ideal Castlevania game (solid snake killing the twilight "vampires") but it's a step in the right direction.
If you're referring to the tags, it should display all related tags below the header image. As for the "related" stories, I'd have to ask the person who programed out software. But I'll say we should have finer control over it in the future with pending site features. No bias here!
Rocksteady's only claim to fame was Urban Chaos: Riot Response before releasing the phenomenal Arkham Asylum. I remember the shit-storm that ensued prior to that game's release concerning such a beloved franchise in the hands of an unproven developer, but it actually turned out pretty well.
My point: why not wait until the game is actually released to make judgments on how terrible the game is/ will be? It could turn out to be absolute shit, but then again, it could surprise you.
Wes Craven and Tom Clancy are a couple other whores who come to mind.
If Kojima is truly getting involved, I hold hope. If he went the whore route on this game...it'll be as bad as past 3D Castlevanias.
You shut your filthy mouth!
@article
I'm also optimistically pessimistic. Not going to discard it just for being 3D, but I'm nowhere near convinced yet that this is a good thing.
Dude, I totally loved Castlevania 64! You know, even if it is just the nostalgia.
Konami. Kojima. Whatever.
Just, please, be a fun, engaging Castlevania game... Actually skip the whole engaging part, with Kojima we'll be watching the game rather than playing it! Just make it fun.
Nice vampire. But I guess he won't be able to rant on how mankind is a miserable pile of secrets.
But enough talk! HAVE AT YOU!
And if you arent't excited about this game and would rather another lame nes style, stuck in the past 2D platformer, then you need to be checked for a brain and pulse.
Remember, everyone said SotN would suck because it was too much like Metroid. Let's not judge the game before it's even done.
I played SOTN on xbox live arcade, really don't get the big deal. It's a 2D platformer, not some immersive masterpiece.
It's an action/rpg, and was one of the first successful blends of the two.
