I don't really recall anyone in Castlevania games being a whiny bitch besides Charlotte. Soma was actually pretty cool-headed, well, until you try to kill his girl or something.
Still, I don't see anything here that's worth getting excited about.
I'd like a real 2D Castlevania, not more experimental BS fro IGA. The dude needs to stick to what he knows because each time he experiments the results are never pretty.

Actually, I meant Nanobreaker, not Nanostray.
Nanostray is a good top-down shooter on the DS, published by Majesco.
Nanobreaker is a bad action game by IGA, published by Konami.

Those DS games are the reason I feel sorry for anyone who still doesn't think a DS is worth buying.

I don't totally grasp how this thing is balanced. Shanoa and Alucard have powers way beyond the other people in the games.
