Kinuyo Yamashita, better known as the original composer for Castlevania on the original Nintendo, will be performing at Video Games Live on December 29 and December 30 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey. She will be performing her original Castlevania music backed by the New Jersey Symphony.
That's not all! Internet legend Brentalfloss will also be performing at the VGLs and we expect he'll be doing some of the parodies that have made him a YouTube superstar, as seen in this story's clip.
Tickets are going for as low as $21, a pretty damn good deal for a 2 hour plus show full of videogame music goodness.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Meet the rest of the team
went to a VGL show once. it really sucked. music wasnt loud enough. too many people cheering, and making noise. selection of songs was terrible (Need for speed? wtf?)
I'm not even kidding when I say I predicted Brentalfloss being there. On one of the VGL Mega Man vids you can see me say that it would be funny if Brentalfloss just appeared on stage and started singing his lyrics, and some guy responded that he expected him to be there one day.
Also Kinuyo Yamashita has commented on a VGL video, saying that she indeed likes VGL, so it wasn't a surprise to me. Too bad this is all in the next state.
I REALLY wanted to go to this, but the snowy road conditions in Jersey are still shitty. *sigh* If they play any Mass Effect music I'll be even more disappointed that I didn't go. At least I saw them when they came to Newark 2 years ago, that was a blast. I got to meet Martin Leung/Video Game Pianist and I had Tommy Tallarico sign my copy of Earthworm Jim 2.
Gee thanks for the warning... Telling us about this the FUCKING day it's happening...
I live in NJ too but I already spent all my money from my last paycheck... I'm a huge Brentalfloss fan too... (got the first print of his CD and SIGNED by him too)
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
