First game i got when i got my xbox a few months ago, couldnt wait for the psn release, it's so good! Probably my favorite game on the xbox.

Kinda figured as much. Actually reminds me of this one beat 'em up I played on Newgrounds. Any connection there?

The Behemoth (creators of Castle Crashers) have direct connections with Newgrounds in that it was founded by NG people and its first console game was a full version of Alien Hominid, which originated on NG.
Castle Crashers is just really fun to play. By yourself or with others next to you, most likely one of the best downloadable games created. I don't know the specifics, but it's been one of the top downloaded games on XBL.

@garethxxgod: Yeah, Tom and Dan released a Flash version of Castle Crashers called "Castle Crashing the Beard", where you could use the knights from CC to fight against Tom Fulps beard, lol.
It's a day one buy for me because I've loved everything Dan has done; I've been following him and his work for about 8 years. It's my style of humor, gameplay and animation. Fluid, ridiculous and entertaining.

I dunno again it seems alright I'm just not sure what everyones up in arms about especially when there are other sources I can go to to satiate my desire for beat 'em up action.
I ain't trolling I promise I guess all the hype made me expect more, since this is my first experience seeing the game (the volleyball game remark was a joke btw I did read what Conrad said LOL).
However I'm gonna do more research and try and find some gameplay and review videos and make an assessment that way, since I am interested to see what all the fuss is about.

Sure, there are plenty of options for beat-em-ups and stuff like that. Castle Crashers just happens to be one of the best options, single player or multiplayer, local or online. No one's up in arms, Castle Crashers is a legitimately good game, great for anyone into the genre and easy fun for almost anyone else.

I see several other people have addressed your post, so I'll just add that Castle Crashers absolutely shines when you play with other peope. It does a great job of combining cooperative and competive gameplay at the same time. You fight with your fellow players for money, weapons, items, even kisses. Yes that's right, I said kisses.
Anyway, it's nothing revolutionary, but it's a very fun game with a great art style. Some of the bosses will seriously have you wondering if there was some heavy drug use involved in their creation.

I love this game, really (i played through it like 8 times, 2 times of that with 2 friends in one sitting), this is nothing new to be excited. The volleyball mini game is a part of the story. And i don't think it will be fun for more than five minutes...
@HEL105: I like to think thats a little nod to Joe and Mac, where the first person to reach the end of the level got a kiss from the cavebabes.
