Castle Crashers, Braid, and other XBLA titles given release dates photo

I hope you guys are stocked up on Microsoft Points, because the "Summer of Arcade" is almost here, and it's going to be incredibly hard to resist. This is what the next five weeks of Xbox LIVE Arcade are going to look like:

  • Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2: July 30
  • Braid: August 6
  • Bionic Commando: Rearmed: August 13
  • Galaga Legions: August 20
  • Castle Crashers: August 27

Wow. There's not a single game listed above that doesn't look good. Prices haven't been revealed for all the titles yet, but we do know that Geometry Wars 2 and Bionic Commando will definitely cost 800 Points.

By playing any of the aforementioned games (trial or full version), you'll be entered into a drawing where you could win up to 100,000 Microsoft Points. Think of all the gamerpics you could buy!

Full press release after the jump.

I'm so glad Braid is only a little over a week away, I can't wait to play it. I'm kind of bummed that Castle Crashers is set for the end of the month, but at least we have a date for it.

I've been jonesing for a new arcade game and have been going through the back catalog to see if there was anything fun I might have missed. And After trolling through the dregs of xbox live arcade titles and playing a seemingly unending avalanche of horrible games, I must say that this months line up totally just made me mess my pants.

Now how am I going to explain the stain to my boss and co-workers?

"Eh only 2 games worth it..." BFD, you've let me down. Seriously. How could you not want all of those?! I want all of them excluding Braid, but because of everything I've read / seen I'm very curious. I was thinking August was gonna be bland and nothing that really interested me would be available, that all changed today. :)

Is Pirates vs Ninjas still coming out this summer? I thougt its release time frame was July.

I was kinda wanting to check it out. Now between trophies in Stardust and achiements for Geometry Wars I'm going to be spending a lot of time with thi type of game. Kinda of ironic when you consider these next-gen consoles were designed to support super hi-def graphics, textures and all sorts of fancy shading/lighting yet I'm excited about a vector game.
