Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

I know nothing about cars. My people traditionally were sea faring Mafioso, and as such, I would probably end up with two or three broken arms and a missing testicle if forced to change my own oil. I do, however, know what I like, and the above trailer, the official intro for Forza Motorsport 2, is molto bello.

Sure, I could nitpick and say it lacks action, explosions or space marines, but I think it captures something more important than those now-cliché elements: subtlety. While the trailer for Gran Turismo HD has a three second clip of two beautiful lesbians trapped in Sapphic delight, and, even the Mario Kart intro has a few moments of Mario curb stomping Toad, the Forza intro satisfies by paying rapt attention to the almost feminine lines of the gorgeous machines the game so amply celebrates. If more games paid attention to capturing the little touches instead of trying to overwhelm people with action and cheap thrills, it would go a long way toward amending the innate attention deficiency our country has become so notorious for.

I personally think the car selection here is great. Three different designs from the middle segment of what the game offers and all classics.

So is this game about cars or something?

I think Buster Poindexter describes it best.

that was such an amazingly engaging trailer i almost want to claw my eyes out and ... wait no, it's the exact opposite of that feeling. i don't get it. it was some prerendered shots of vehicles with no racing footage. i want the money shot. where's my money shot?

Been waiting for the game for a while now but not a big fan of this intro. Just seems boring?

How about some inter-species erotica? Some girl on bush action? Better than car porn!

wow... im surely impressed.... (NOT)

that looks like PS1-2 renders... dude is that really for 360? /sigh, let me go back to seeing GT:HD better than life pictures to cure my eyes of mediocre 3D renders.

Oh yeah, racing 60fps is going to look like a ps1 title.
Give me a fucking break Crunshii.

I sick to fucking death of this GT vs. Forza flaming shit. Both will be outstanding fucking sims. No need for people to justify their belief systems or purchases by trashing the other.

My ps3 can totally beat up your 360.

Great. I'll be racing. And in 2008 when GT5 finally comes out, in both games.

Umm this is the intro to the game, not the trailer right? I'm all for subtlety either way.

@Crunshii

...really? Psone quality renders?

I think you're being just a teency bit over the top. The actual in game for Forza 2, from what I've seen, looks amazing.

Wow, that tells me everything I ever need to know about the game.. Wait, no it doesn't. It doesn't tell me anything. Show us some gameplay if you want to make me happy.. Any idiot who can use a 3d rendering program could create that exact video..

I love how everyone is dissecting this as if it were a promotional trailer for the game. It's the intro. They don't need to flash a ton of gameplay to you if you've already bought the goddamn game.
