I distrust anyone that counts units shipped instead of units sold. The same happened when Sony said they shipped 1 million moves. Its like they change the meaning slightly to hide to shareholders the fact that sales underperformed.

I played it in HMV; I rode around a basic track over and over. -_- Just give me some Ridge Racer.

Since GT5 hasn't raped my wife or killed my kids, I like it. Very well made sim.

GT5 was the disappointment of the generation. Yeah sure you shipped so many copies, but I'm pretty sure a big chunk of those are a) Still at the store and b) Have been traded in for another game.

i keep it for split screen and just when i want to drive fast.

it's a great sim, but i've gone off sims a little is all.

You have a lot of friends who know a lot about how shit the PS3 and all of it's games are dude. A LOT of friends for a basement dwelling troll.

GT5 was a flawed game, no doubt. But at the same time, it is definitely the best Gran Turismo game, and I've been playing the series since the first one came out. Once you start racing, it is sublime! Any minor graphical inconsistencies don't even matter once the race starts.

As for shipped vs sold, that is the dumbest argument I've heard, especially for a game that has only been out for 3 months. I guarantee that the vast majority of those are sales, and those that are sitting on the selves still will be sold within the next three months.

GT5 is the shit. It's got its issues; I certainly wouldn't call it perfect, but the racing is nice and tight. I'm still playing it regularly. I'll be the first to admit I was disappointed by some of PD's choices, it feels like they weren't really finished with the game despite the crazy long development time, but it's solid where it counts.

Anyway GT5 is the game im playing the most those past month. Got a lot of new game but im still coming back to this O_O It got its flaws... but its so good that you forget all those flaws :P 6.37 million is good but i believe theres still a lot of them on shelves. 5.5million SOLD is a more realistic number imo.

GT5 is one of the hottest car simulations I've ever played. The immersion especially with a steering wheel is crazy. Unfortunately the day doesn't have enough hours so I can hardly play it. :(

But it's really good to see such numbers. You'd think that simulations arent't that wanted anymore in a time where everything gets dumbed down and more casual. GT5 is no game you can put in and have a relaxed time. Most of the trials where you need to pass a given time are brutal and you can't make the slightest mistake. But hey, that's a good thing.

I only recently learned that the Gran Turismo is the best seller that it is. It sort of boggles my mind that it's such a popular brand. But I suppose it's like Call of Duty, in that it only seems to be generic to outsiders because everybody else is trying to copy it.

And the crazy thing, most games are 3rd party and have little to do with the hardware besides a contract.

Look at most multiplat games, they are 99% the same on XBOX or PS3.
