Captain Obvious: Wii play healthier than sitting on your ass photo

Here comes some BREAKING news, folks. Get ready for it: a recent study posted on The Hindu reports that playing games on the Nintendo Wii that require physical movement are better for you than games where you simply sit in front of your computer or TV holding a controller. WOW. From the article:

The study found that playing virtual sports such as boxing and tennis on the Nintendo Wii burned more than 50 percent energy than playing sedentary computer games such as the Xbox.

But wait! There's more

Professor David Dunstan, head of the physical activity lab at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, said; "Interactive games could be useful in helping to increase people's level of activity throughout the day."

The only good thing about this insanely obvious research is that it's great to shove in the faces of people who still insist playing video games is bad for you and rots your brain. Otherwise, we kind of knew. Hey, did you know if you get up and walk to the 7-11 down the street, you burn calories? Incredible, isn't it?

I love how it says that it burns 50% more. Which suggests that either controllers burn a lot more than expected, or that the Wii doesn't burn as much as you would think.

This money had better be coming from private investors with idiotic agendas. Usually I don't give a damn where "my" tax dollars are going, but I sure as hell hope it's not going to studies that ask whether being active is healthier than being inactive.

Now if we can just get some study about how pr0n raises your intelligence and/or increases your lifespan, then I'll be set.

A recent study finds that when given grant money to do research with obvious results the professor given the money will spend it all on hookers and blow.

my recent study says that i want to play video games without being targeted for self masturbation and be grouped together by some company that thinks mcdonald's has healthy food because they sell one kind of fucking salad and diet pop.

if you are fat and order 3 double cheeseburgers, 2 large fries, an apple pie AND a DIET coke, you're doing it wrong.

Nintendo only used this argument like a 10000 times.
It's kinda funny Nintendo be all concerned about health when Reggie is a big fat hamburger.

LMAO... love the cat picture... I have a cat like that! :)

... and I wonder how much it cost for that study to be done... and more importantly who funded the study?

What?!Oh My God, who would have guessed, actually doing physical activity can burn energy. Thank You The Hindu research team, who knows what would have happened if you didn't figured that out, probably would have developed a brain. =d
