Capcom wants Street Fighter IV on PSP photo

If you want to bring Cammy's flexed gluteus with you wherever you go but don't like Apple, then Capcom might have you covered. The company has revealed in a recent Q&A that it wants to bring the immensely popular fighting game to the PlayStation Portable, joining the recently revealed iPhone version.

Capcom's Natsuki Shiozawa has said that she wants the game on PSP and that many of her colleagues agree. With SF IV coming to iPhone, it's no stretch to imagine an easy port over to Sony's handheld system as well. Plus, we've already had the likes of BlazBlue, SoulCalibur and Darkstalkers hitting the system, so why not Street Fighter IV as well?

I really want to play SF4, but I am SHEEEEEEEET at fighting games and would hate to buy a "proper" game that I'm just going to get my ass handed to me at.

However, I don't consider PSP games "proper" and will likely pick this up.

Just price it right - OK?

yep so there is no doubt that the wii could run SF4, so where is our RE5 port?

Hellz yeah, I enjoyed having my ass handed to me on Tekken. Just make sure gamesharing is allowed. Nothing pisses me off more than fighting games that don't have gamesharing.

@Rockefellow

I don't own a Wii, I just think it's stupid to do a freaking iPhone port before porting it to the Wii

@Retrofraction: you're really not missing much with Resi5. that said, the controls would probably make the game a lot better.

SFIV is quickly becoming Linuxlike.

SFIV for Calculator confirmed! 1+1=Hadouken

If CoD4 can be ported, I don't see why SFIV can't. Also, SSFIV already!

Now with Tatsunoko vs.Capcom on the Wii it's probably a bad business decision, since SF4 and Tatsunoko have similar audiences and the sales could get messed up.

This would almost make up for the lack of a Marvel vs Capcom 2 port

Capcom really just doesn't want SF on the Wii do they?

They're hell bent on releasing it for every platform except the Wii.

Didn't Capcom say that Tatsunoko vs Capcom is the true successor to Marvel vs Capcom2? :]

Also, SexChoc: Shudder to play ANY fighter without a fight stick! Shuuuuuuuuun!

Does Capcom think that if they don't port Street Fighter 4 to every available system, then every must hate their games?

@SexualChocolate - Your "logic" never ceases to disappoint. PSP wouldn't be a "proper" version? What did Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and Tekken 6 lose in terms of overall gameplay?

Just multiplayer via Infrastructure, really. That's fixed with AHP.

If you want to day, "I'm getting the handheld version because I don't want to be seen online playing it and found out to stink" that's one thing. To say the handheld versions aren't "proper," well, there's more than a few gamers that could school you the same way there, so no, they're proper.

What's the difference? First tekken uses 4 main buttons, perfect for the psp however the sf series uses 6, and the psp has a terrible d-pad for 2-d fighting games, anyone who has played alpha 3 max on the psp will agree.

This will not be a proper port.

It's a no brainer for me. I will pick up this as soon as it launched. Oh, and yeah, in a couple of days, i'm pretty sure SFIV will be announced for the Wii.

@c4onurback: It depends which PSP you have. I have a PSP 2000, and I think the d-pad is just fine.

this would be a great fit for the PSP. i'd LOVE to be able to practice combos on my lunch break at work, but give it some robust online infrastructure capability and i'd probably play it more than the console version.

Sure, that's why the didn't port RE5 either, Spyborgs is already covering that audience... with their own puke maybe, it would also explain why the made RE:DC an on rails shooter, there sure weren't a shitload of other games like that on the Wii already (including one made by them).

@Rockefellow: It's one thing to keep a game exclusive. It's another to port a game to almost every console on the market and leave out one or two for no good reason. >_>

After reading that Street Fighter IV was going on the Iphone. I thought that's retarded. And with all due respect if they are going to do that then they really should put it on the PSP. It's only fair and I think it would be a wise decision on their part.

I might be interested if this did come to psp, then again I might not, I'm more into 3rd person fighters/brawlers rather than the 2d variety.
