According to Capcom's John Diamonon, the publisher's got something up its sleeve in the coming months.
Closing out a blog post on the PlayStation Blog, Diamonon kicked off the speculation game by writing "Oh, one other thing. I'll be back in April for a huge announcement. Stay tuned and let the speculation begin."
Real nice, right? What a tease. I haven't got a clue what it could be, but considering he mentioned it on the PlayStation Blog, one would have to assume whatever the announcement is has to do (at least in part) with a Sony product.
So what do you think (or want) Capcom to reveal in April? I'll only go as far as to guess it might be a digital download title, maybe another remake or re-imagining along the lines of Bionic Commando Rearmed. But I've got nothing to base that on, so your guess is as good as mine.

We all know that if you're really going to dangle something huge in front of s gamer's face you create a countdown website with the outline of an ambiguous character. Then, when the countdown is over, you simply reveal a date, but fail to mention what it is for. Then, you start another countdown.

What problem? You think Megaman 9 printed money only on the nostalgia principle? The reason why Capcom keeps making sequels is because they sell. And they sell because more often than not, they're damn good games.
And all of Capcom's most creative people are with Sega now anyway. There's less risk of disappointment if we get hyped for another Capcom sequel.
I smell an upcoming April Fools joke, but maybe that's just me. If not, then a new Darkstalkers or Breath of Fire would get me really excited. But this "huge announcement" is probably just another Monster Hunter. *groan*
