Which is what they've been doing for a while now as my ever growing Mega Man X D-Arts figures and stack of Archie Comics can attest.
The question is, would it make any money? The business guys at Capcom seem to think the answer is "no", at least for now.
After all the underhanded cashgrab baloney the business guys at Capcom have tried to shove at consumers over the past year, I'm surprised that anything they do makes money.
Now an art book detailing every robot master and stage map is something I would eagerly empty my wallet for. Or even just an A2 poster with all the sprites.
we still got Ex Trooper though so that's probably the closest we can get :D
such a shame no game compilation, like Street Fighter 25th Anniversary and Resident Evil 15th anniversary.
seriously just put Megaman X and Megaman Collection in one disc and all the movies and OST just like you did with SF 25th Anniversary and i will buy that instead.
Seth is a well known egomaniac and attention whore, the game has been torn apart to hell and back, and Capcom has proven to be a horrid company in the years since then. If there is any secret at all, its an unlock that triggers once the game has sold 1 Billion copies, that way they can blame us for not supporting them enough to earn it.
Now all he gets is some overpriced music CDs.
Yeah, I would say you are the minority by far. To inquire, why would you be more excited over this than a new game?
then let's tack on the fact that we have no idea if they're even coming OUT over here.
Which is probably a resounding no.
Dubstep.. lots of dubstep.
Though, this doesn't bother me, Mega Man music being turned into Metal already works, I figure it'd be just as easy to slip it into Electronica/techno easily. I'd listen to it.
But yeah, I agree.. How about a game? Games make great Anniversary events; not comics, soundtracks, coffee table books.. Shilling out wares shouldn't overcome shilling out software. Its kind of sad that of all things Capcom will do, they can't possibly find an outlet for this character that they think will work.
@Holmes
Even if they're right, Capcom's business arm has done wonders to prove over the last few years that they don't know what they're doing when it comes to knowing the customer.
Honestly, and it's kind of sad, I don't get to play a lot of games anymore because I'm so tied up listening to the music. =/
Also, even though this collection is aimed towards the core Classic Mega Man games, it’s missing the soundtracks from the Mega Man World series, the Sega Saturn version of Mega Man 8, & Rockman & Forte. Keep in mind that I'm not implying that I want "More, more... MOAR," but this collection is severly incomplete, so why would they go through all the trouble of putting this thing together if they won’t include one of the main entries from the Classic series?
Read? I just bumble around and post random comments asking for peoples thoughts and opinions on arbitrary topics. Anyway, snark aside, fair enough.
We all have our passions, I was just curious if you had any particlar feelings about the series or direction it has gone (or lack thereof). To me, a new core MM game would mean more great music. I suppose I assumed that you had some vested interest in the series, as is common for one excited about an anniversary edition soundtrack.
Sorry if that came across as questioning your judgement, I thought it might be fun for the community to hear your thoughts on the statement. Maybe next time.
Ah, forgive my quick tounge. The comments can be a bit Mos Eisley cantina at times. Regardless, an excuse for such a hostile response is not appropriate and I do apologize.
With that said, if you would be so kind to humor a final question. Favorite track from the franchise? Ima Top Man kinda guy myself.
That's a really difficult question. I'd probably take the easy way out and say Mega Man 2's "Wily 1," Mega Man 7's "Wily 1," or maybe "Concrete Man" from Mega Man 9. See, I just named three.
Fuck, I want to play Mega Man X now.
"Guess I'm the only one more excited about these arranged soundtrack than I would be for a new game. ;D"
Not exactly the best thing you could say to starved Mega Man fans. >_>
I guess it's nice, but too expensive for my taste. And we don't even know if it's coming stateside. Plus the last time I listened to an official techno remix, I wasn't impressed. Their remasters are fantastic though.
I'm still waiting for that big "We Care About Mega Man" announcement come December/end of the year. The one that's going to blow me away and convince me that Capcom cares about the brand after it ripped my heart out with Legends 3 and ate it as I watched them recycle the engine to power EX Troopers (which is looking pretty cool).
By the way, the 100,000 Strong group are going to launch a fucking rocket in Texas to commemorate the day Capcom pulled the plug on theirs and my beloved franchise return. Read all about it on Facebook.
