Our imaginations have just calmed down from the rumored Sony Big Bang, but that turned out to be a just a really mean prank. Now we're only about two days away from finding out what the hell Capcom's countdown timer has been holding from us, and as we draw closer, imaginations run wild again.
We've been chanting "Okami for Wii!" for a long time, and I think they've heard us. There has been enough rumor support (and subsequent denials) to make me think that it's still coming soon. I don't think Okami Wii is the secret.
The kids at CVG are throwing out their guess: some sort of Lost Planet sequel or spin-off. I like the idea of a follow-up to last year's hit, this time bringing more online action and multiplatform versions to the table. Lost Planet 2 sounds like a pretty smart guess, and it fits with the recent buzz and earlier rumors.
After all of that, I have to stick to my guns. It may be more of a wishful thinking thing, but I still want Dead Rising 2. I have no solid evidence to support this guess, but hopefully my power of want will make it so. While in Tokyo last month, I saw Keiji Inafune and yelled "Make Dead Rising 2!" He may or may not have heard me, and I know that a one month development period is impossible, but I'm sticking to my guns. Please be Dead Rising 2!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
If they'd do more of the Marvel Vs series, I'd be all over that!
Also cocks.
Didn't they already basically say that Dead Rising 2 won't be happening? While the development team WANTS to do it, the company doesn't want to earmark resources for it quite yet.
I never played Lost Planet (I heard the bosses were cheap and that = insta pass for me) so news about a sequel or spin-off would do nothing for me.
I would welcome any news regarding a Dead Rising sequel though.
And yeah, other than RE on the PSP, I'd kill for Dead Rising 2.
I'd also accept their apology for the abuse of the MegaMan/RockMan franchise turning into a card battling mess.
A new Bionic commando or Willow (2.5D, not 3D) style would also be well received.
:)
Lost Planet, on the other hand, was fun and engaging. It offered fun gameplay with an interesting story and gorgeous graphics. Since I rented it months after release I lost out on getting to play the multiplayer (no pun intended), so I can't speak to that aspect of the game.
The fact the clock is super-imposed over a planet, presumably Earth, makes me think a Lost Planet sequel. However, they could pull a World War Z and do a Dead Rising sequel where the zombies have infected the planet and it has you hopping around a much larger area like a free-form city to try and see the bigger picture than just a single outbreak (this again, is based on the fact I never finished Dead Rising's story... so, pure speculation/wishful thinking at best).
Dunno, though. I highly doubt it is Street Fighter 4. The planet just makes me think "bigger."
I think BioShock could've used a similar save system.
If it's not Dead Rising 2 I don't care.
Also, boo on SF4. Aren't we all still playing SF2? Why are we messing with 4 if no one bothers with 3?
I tried playing Dead Rising on an SDTV, and it was the worst $60 I ever spent on a game. After my roommate picked up an uberpimp 42" HD, it became the best $2,060 we'd ever spent on a game.
DUCK TALES 3!!!!!!
I have an 'I told you so.' ready for when it's not. Though it may have to do with SSF2THDFXBL&PSN...
A new MegaMan
Megaman, viewtiful Joe, in Brawl.
Street Fighter 4.
Idk.
Bionic Commando would be amazing but also seems extremely unlikely.
but a dead rising/lost planet sequel would be very welcome too
