Capcom on PC: Resident Evil 5, SFIV, Bionic Commando photo

We tip our hats to Capcom for all of the PC love. They've been pretty serious about bringing their games to Windows PCs, and that comitment continues with some of their biggest franchises, all coming this summer.

Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, and Bionic Commando are hitting the PC starting in July of this year. Bionic Commando and Street Fighter will hit first, with Resident Evil coming later in the year. All three will be optimized for the platorm, and will sport PC-specific features. You'll see the games on both retail shelves and on Capcom's own e-store.

PC-only perks:

  • Bionic Commando will support higher resolutions and have remappable controls for controller or keyboard. Both DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 will be supported.
  • Resident Evil 5 will take advantage of NVIDIA's GeForce 3D Vision technology, which we've seen used in other games like Mirror's Edge on the PC.
  • Street Fighter IV will look even better in high resolutions, with new shaders based on the artistic trailers released earlier, changing the visual style to settings like "watercolor," "posteriziation" and "sumi-e ink" styles.

Wow, Capcom! Way to take care of PC gamers, guys. A high-resolution watercolored Street Fighter IV sounds amazing to me -- I can't wait to see it.

PC gamers: which of these do you plan on picking up?

Oh god YES. I can't believe they're actually giving treats to the PC now.

Very tasty, yet unexpected. I love me some perks!

Damn I want all 3 of those. This could get expensive quickly.

After that lazy ass port to PC of Resident Evil 4, I am hoping this is Capcom's moment to turn things around and get the job done.

Why is a picture of Bison tagged Bionic Commando?

Kotaku had pics of the different shaders. They are VERY nice.

I'll be picking up SF4 and RE5. Not much of a fan of Bionic Commando.

Watch out, PC players. That theme music will consume your very soul.

Looks like Capcom is getting more PC savvy.

If they're good, Bionic Commando and RE5. I'm not a fighting game guy. Later this year, Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2, both of which are also coming to PC, and both of which I'm very excited for.

SF4 stuff sounds nice...

too bad i caved and got Resi5 on 360. i have huge amounts of respect for capcoms commitments to PC gaming, but they need to start getting their PC releases in line with the console ones. given the choice i will opt for the PC version every time, but if i want to play something i'm not going to wait months to do so.

AWESOM!

I am totally buying RE5 and SF4 on PC. BC is a toss up. I kind of doubt I'll get it.

Why don't they release SF2HDRemix or MvC2 for PC? I'd get those too...

This is cool. I just hope Capcom give the same swag with these versions to get them to buy a copy and not pirate them.

Well, good thing you PC guys have access to a 360 pad, now.

Oh hell yes.
I can't wait for RE5.

Thanks Capcom!

RE5 is the most definite purchase. Though I did just buy a PS3, I am not certain I'll buy it on PS3 yet (I was holding out for a PC version to begin with). But that hinges on controller support. RE4 was pitiful on PC be cause of the lack of proper controller support. I'm sure it will have Xbox 360 gamepad support though.

SF4 depends on a handful of my friends. I'd like to, but if I got nobody to fight with it's useless. What would be truly awesome is if they allowed for cross platform play. But I don't see that happening either.

Bionic Commando I have no desire to play at all, that could change once it comes and impressions from people I trust begin to flow.

If they can keep shitty DRM away from me and make their games available on Steam or Impulse I will be happy.

But I get the feeling Capcom are going to pur DRM on everything and won't reconcile with Valve and make my life hell.

Irony is Steam is DRM. Most DRM doesn't bother me. Limit installs do however
