Like I said earlier, pictures and video of this gorgeous game just doesn't do it proper justice. But at least it's better than nothing, right? All of the videos are of Ken and Ryu fighting it out and gives you a good sense of how the fighting will be.
Watching the videos here made me realize something I didn't when I originally played the game. Some of the songs that they are using for HD Remix is from the Blood on the Asphalt OC Remix project. This has some of the best covers/remixes of Street Fighter II music I have ever heard and I recommend you all checking it out.

How's the game looking to you?
37 comments, latest by Cowboy TTop Yes, I'm aware of the previous SF2 on Live, as I have a 360. These games still need a new pad for them.
Think I better start checking play asia, to see what they have. - read more
That last stage is Ken's stage, not Guiles, that's the first one.
Anyway, I don't know, sprite limitations have hurt this game, they want to stay true to the sprites, but the normal stances just look a little too jerky as a side effect.
You can tell they are using the craptastic XBOX d-pad in some of those vids by all of the failed attempts at throwing fireballs. Argh, we hates it, precious!!
You apparently are impressed by very little. You need to see Guilty Gear X in action if you want awesome 2D sprites and animation the way it should be done.
I agree with pretty much everybody else. I really like the art redo, but the characters look like they're having seizures with the turbo turned all the way up.
WOW!!! I still remember buying SFII for SNES in 92. I can actually watch the day and how I was blown away by it. I was so giddy! How could the SNES handle this game? but now all these years later to see this. How the game has been revamped and preserved all time for posterity, brings tears to my eyes. Release it already!!!
The Interface (UI, bars, text) has no punch. the sprites look awesome, the backgrounds great! but the bars and text look terrible.
Sound! Music I like. I was humming the themes all day already.
My problem is the announcer's voice. It's not deep enough. "You win!" is supposed to resonate in your bones, not sound like a 13 year old boy.
Oh, man. The flame effect when Ryu got lit up by a fireball in the last video was absolutely amazing. Turbo mode seizures aside, this game is going to rock...hard.
Wow, their fighting stances look really jerky. It looks like a mis-aligned animated GIF or something. God, they'd damn well better fix this. Also, Vega's music is absolute crap now.
They're using Ken's stage and Vega's stage from Blood on the Asphalt. However they must have contacted the guy who did Vega's stage music, because it was a short rap track originally. Sadly it doesn't work very well here, especially the uptempo loop when someone is almost dead.
Using the Ken remix is nice, but I would have rather had the FUCKING EPIC Ryu mix from the album.
Other tracks that better get in from the album are Chun-Li's, Cammy's, and Dee-Jay's.
Also what's with all the misguided hate here? I think it looks great. Too bad it's unplayable on a 360 controller XD.
I definitely like the look of the game, but I'm not crazy about the new announcer and Ken's new voice. I feel like the fighters in the turbo games always looked cracked out and jerky--I think it's a cool throwback.
@Holyetheline
No good d-pads after SNES? The Sega Saturn's small controller was the best 2D gamepad ever made. I wish I could mod that to work on every console.
Well, its a remix of a game that's been out for ages. You guys who think it looks bad shouldnt expect the red earth.
Even for a remix, judging by what I've seen, I think Capcom and Udon have done a great job bringing this game to Live Arcade and PSN. They didn't have to remix it, they could have just pushed the old arcade cut out the door and filled their pockets.
A definite buy for me, thanks a lot Capcom and Udon.
Like I said, its a remix, not a brand new game, get over it. That in no way means its a bad game, and that's where it really counts.
Us gamers can be so spoiled and unreasonably passionate sometimes. Just be greatful we are getting this at all. Don't like what you see, no one is forcing you to buy.

I don't understand why every D-Pad that came out after the SNES sucks.

I don't know about you. But I thought the Dreamcast was a fighting games' home with their d-pad.

I have Guilty Gear XX Accent Core and #Reload, yes those are pretty games, but hell sometimes I just want to go with the simple things
I could see a John Woo film or a monkey with a shotgun and be entertained at the same level

I kinda agree with you on the interface, but the sound effects (hence, the announcer's voice) was lifted straight out of the original SFII.
Back then, I don't think getting a deep booming voice to proclaim to the heavens the victor of the match was really necessary. :P
I keed, I keed.

They already did that when the released SFII hyper fighting on the XBLA so time to change it up i guess.

The standing animation and some of the victory animations need a couple more frames. Way too jerky.
The overall color palette doesn't mix well either.
