Capcom: battering women, making 'em cry since 1992; new SF HD Remix art surfaces photo
     Fighting Games

Capcom has posted an animated image of Chun-Li's continue screen from the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network title, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and a crying, battered woman has never looked better.

Okay, maybe that was taking it too far ...

In the same post, the game's producer responds to some negative feedback about a recently revealed Guile sprite ("we are considering revising some of his look based on the reactions I’ve been reading on the blog and many of the boards I keep up with"); the impact the new look will have on gameplay ("The change in resolution will not have an effect on the hit detection of the game."); sound; and more.

For some of us, this game can't come out fast enough, but be patient -- the team only recently got the game up and running using some of the new sprites. But fear not, as they're on track for a release date some time around "not soon enough" and well before Duke Nukem Forever

I'm right there with you Nex. XBLA is the reason I wanted a 360 to begin with.

Personally I liked the Guile sprite. I just felt it could use some fine-tuning. Chun-Li crying is always good, but we need ot see her thunder-thighs for true approval or denial.

WTF was she battered with Semen? Seriously, that looks horrible. The Guile sprite is ok, but he looks like hes squinting, can't really see eyes. Hopefully they make this SF awesome.

LOL @ wiisucksx2.

As for these works in progress, all I can say is I'm disappointed. I am huge Street Fighter fan, primarily for the art. And I bought every issue for the Udon comic, primarily for the art.

And I feel like the Udon team is seriously struggling here. This is not their best work in terms of static images. Worse, they just don't know how to animate. Most moving parts of the Chun-Li image are not redrawn, and those that are show no understanding of how the human face moves.

Just because you can draw doesn't mean that you know how to animate a drawing. It's a sad truth that a lot of comic artist learn when trying to take on 2D animation.

I'm glad the rest of you seem to like this, and I will support this game just because I'm fans of Capcom and Udon, but I honestly don't think that (so far) this project is up to either company's standards.

I can't justify owning another copy of this game as I have two copies on the 3DO (one of them with a French manual) plus the special 6 button controllers and one on the Dreamcast.

But I would like to play it, and I wonder if they'll have it on demo at Comic Con.
