Also, buy our 6-installment Dragon's Dogma X Street Fighter crossover. We charge for each character now. So it's not like you'll have any money for Mega Man games anyway.
*holds hand out and waits for a tip*
Asking fans to 'keep expectations in check' seems like kind of a shitty thing to say though, I mean at least let people get excited at the mere prospect of anything Mega Man related...
Shin Megami Tensei turned 25 on Monday. Atlus didn't really do anything. Then again, they just re-released Soul Hackers two weeks ago and will have a bit to say about SMTIV and TGS.
Actually, they may be giving the same treatment that Nintendo gave some of their protagonists. Samus and I ate some lonely cake. By I, I mean Samus alone.... in the corner, bored out of her mind. Since she got some Metroid genes in her, Nintendo stopped caring.
They think she's not pure, or something.
/Stops Samus' serious sobbing.

i don't know who the hell hired this guy and why he's still in the company.
ehh i don't think they're gonna do any new game anytime soon.
amybe announcement next year at best.
but anything this year?? lol no just no.
@The Silent Protagonist
i think atlus japan will announce something this TGS for sure.
not only we got Persona 4 Arena, Soul Hackers Remake, SMTIV and probably a new game altogether.
so at LEAST they do care.
though im betting they're gonna announce a Anniversary Collection just like FF did last event.
Just give up, Capcom.
As for keeping our "expectations in check" that whole quote sounded pretty dicky. I don't know if I warped the context because of how I feel about the way they're treating a character that I still firmly believe is their flagship character, or what, but telling fans "Yeah, its been 25 years, don't get your hopes up" is a pretty shitty thing to say to your fans. If your going to tell us to not really expect much, i just feel like it could have been said better, instead of sounding like an absentee dad.
However, it blows my mind how much Capcom craps all over the Mega Man franchise and it's fanbase. I mean I grew up on Mega Man X and my love for the series only grew as I played through the various Mega Man titles.
I mean seriously - they KNOW that if you put Mega Man on a game it will sell well....
yes gamecube had one(the one that you can't even change the controls. WTF) thank god the PS2(not sure about the Xbox) can switch controls in any buttons(i use R2 for dashin since it's much easier to do the dash cancel jumps)
im glad they did one a few years ago.
all i need is Megaman Zero Collection for DS and the Battle Network series, ZX and ZX Advent and i'll be able play every megaman to date.
oh and Legends 1 and 2 too.
it's too bad capcom could have made this easier by putting all these in one package.
but nope if it's about Megaman you can't forget about that.
Translation: Something besides Xover is coming, only it's pretty crappy and we want you to know forehand to minimize expectation and bitching post reveal.
