I've been wondering about Crystal Dynamics, the studio that developed most of the games Eidos published in the late 90's and early millennium. Are they still around? I think in the age of Digital Distribution this would be the perfect time for a new Gex the Gecko game.
I've finished every Raziel/Kain game back to front since the PSX - GREAT series, imo, that got a little convoluted by Defiance, but it had Tony Jay as a giant tentacle monster so who gives a fuck.

A lot of stuff about it was posted on Nosgothic realm a year ago. Sad, that they didn't finish it before Tony Jay passed away and Amy Hennig left for Naughty Dog to do both uncharted games...

Loved this series but with the death of Tony Jay and Amy at Naugthy Dog it's pretty much dead.
I rather they gave up than give us a piece of shit new game with crappy story and dialogue.

I LOVED those games, I really enjoyed the last one, forgot what it was called, the vampire, Kain. Anyway. Loved it.
@Mighty Marcos-what do you mean "the art is not that good." are you refering to the in-game graphics or the characters drawings? I think the drawings look good, the graphics obviously compared to todays games could be improved, but again-this is from what, 2004? And this generation started in 2005 it think..

Oh God. I almost creamed myself when I saw the picture, then I read the title. I'd give my left kidney for a new LoK game.
@NostalGeek I wouldn't give up a future game just because Tony is dead and Amy Hennig working somewhere else. I definitely get how those two are responsible for what the games are praised for, but there is much talent out there.
While Tony's voice is unique, I believe you could get a worthy performance out of the VA for LeChuck from Monkey Island, Earl Boen.
But I agree. As much as I want to see another game, I want to know it's in safe hands.

It's a shame this wasn't made. Sony should purchase the intellectual property from Eidos and get Naughty Dog to develop a new Legacy of Kain game.

But, put it this way - I am not from the Nation where they have been teaching children via every single information outlet possible, that communism/socialism is THE ENEMY, THE ENEMY for multiple generations. FEAR THE REDS! GREED IS GOOD! Every man for himself! Step on everyone on your way up the ladder but never forget to FEAR THE REDS!

GAH!?! It's not a Kain game i want.. ITS A RAZIEL GAME GODDAMIT!! Dont worry about creating new content and stories that may, or may not work. just REMAKE the SOUL REAVER games. Both of them on one disk. Same music, story and characters. Just reVamp [see what i did there] the graphics engine and finish the first soul reaver game. Put that missing content back in.. Didn't want to get into it, but I disagree. why in a world where everyone is equal, would creative industries not exist? Hell, the basic fundamentals of socialism would encourage such things, I know that having the choice, the funding (which is currently sitting in 2% of peoples bank accounts) I would try to make games.

If you think I was actually claiming that "creative industries" couldn't exist outside of capitalism, then you're being too thick for your own good. I was being specific, saying that, in this instance, that which you seem to so vehemently oppose was responsible for something you enjoyed. Also see: it ain't all that bad.

The folks at Naughty Dog need to ditch whatever project they're working on and go back to the Legacy of Kain series...before Eidos passes it off to another developer. We all remember what happened the last time this was done. -_O

No... no... this can't be happening to me... not today. And just when I thought a shitty day couldn't get any worse, I get tormented by the epilogue that could have been to the Legacy of Kain series, something I've been aching for and hoping against hope that it would one day see the light of day. Perfect, just bloody perfect.
Doesn't Square-Enix own Eidos now?

I've played and liked every LoK game to varying degrees so this is quite bad news. Defiance is one of the few games where the story has left me sitting there with my mouth hanging open from what just happened, and it did that several times even.
I even enjoyed Blood Omen 2!
Luckily, Amy Hennig has moved on to another great game series (Uncharted 1 and 2) so we still get to see her great scripting and storylines, but this story is quite a bummer.
To anyone who HASN'T played the LoK series, it is EASILLY one of the top 5 best voice acted game series out there. The story is great too, but the actors push it over the top by being so awesome.

I loved the Legacy of Kain series. It was beautifully written... I would love to see an updated visual on Kain or even Raziel.
I hate seeing cancelled games...I mean it's cool to see, but when it's such a great concept, or a series I love dearly such as this, its just depressing.
I am a HUGE fan of the legacy of kain series. so this saddened me greatly.
that said, while it kept the ending open, defiance had quite a bit of closure too, so at least it wasn't left on a cliffhanger or anything. I feel that if there is never another game, we got a great tale with beggining, middle and end.
