50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is one of those games that you buy not because it's going to be "good," but because it will provide plenty of laughs after you have downed a few drinks. Don't believe me? Then go watch the official trailer.
Back when the news that Activision Blizzard was merging with Vivendi Games was still fresh, quite a few titles were rumored to be getting the axe, including Blood on the Sand. If that doesn't ring any bells, it's probably because you were too busy worrying about the fates of Brütal Legend and Ghostbusters to care about poor ol' 50 Cent.
Now that those same rumors about Blood on the Sand are resurfacing, it's time to set the record straight. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the game is not only going to be finished, but it's "close to completion and on track for release before Christmas."
Good news or bad news? I know some of you utterly loathe Blood on the Sand, but hey, it's not like you're going to be forced to play it or anything.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
As long as there's no "unlimited time potion" I think he'll be fine with it.
I can't wait for the review!
Do these games even remotely sell well?
just give us Ghostbusters and Brutal Legend you fucks
@mix: Yes, the first 50 Cent game made it into the top 100 or top 50 (I don't remember which) selling games of all time.
Atleast Destructoid only 'nearly?' got shown up once today but quickly buried it.
Kotaku towers is going crazy over both false stories (they must be fed up of fake tips).
For some reason I find your comment utterly hilarious.
The reason most gamers will never give this game a chance has very little to do with the fact that 50 cent is a horrible "rapper".This is a licensed music game that has nothing to do with fucking music! That alone is enough to keep at least a quarter of the game population away, and with very good reason as there has NEVER been a good game about a musician that wasnt about music.
Also, fuck you.
The unspoken sentiment quite a few gamers seem to have is this: "It's just for fun, don't take it too seriously." Which is a reasonable philosophy in spirit, but what exactly is 'too serious' about championing a franchise or challenging a company's decisions, I wonder?
What is 'too serious' and what makes you qualified to decide that someone deserves to be berated for having an opinion? In my opinion, if you're on the internet reading about games you are the last person to be telling someone to 'take a chill pill'. I'm passionate about my hobby, I also don't like seeing a bad rapper portrayed as some kind of terrorist beating hero, is that a problem?
Maybe I should have expected, the gaming public just loves buying shit.
