Can you dig it? 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand won't be axed after all photo

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is one of those games that you buy not because it's going to be "good," but because it will provide plenty of laughs after you have downed a few drinks. Don't believe me? Then go watch the official trailer.

Back when the news that Activision Blizzard was merging with Vivendi Games was still fresh, quite a few titles were rumored to be getting the axe, including Blood on the Sand. If that doesn't ring any bells, it's probably because you were too busy worrying about the fates of Brütal Legend and Ghostbusters to care about poor ol' 50 Cent.

Now that those same rumors about Blood on the Sand are resurfacing, it's time to set the record straight. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the game is not only going to be finished, but it's "close to completion and on track for release before Christmas."

Good news or bad news? I know some of you utterly loathe Blood on the Sand, but hey, it's not like you're going to be forced to play it or anything.

It's no Braid, but I'm sure this news will make Souljaboy very happy.

As long as there's no "unlimited time potion" I think he'll be fine with it.

activision told kotaku that the outcome of 50 cent's game is still up in the air, it might be axed because of activision (trying) to push quality.

As much as I HATE 50 Cent and anything associated with him, Activision was retarded to drop this game. It's guaranteed to print money for whoever releases it and it won't matter if the game is shit or not.

How can people loathe Blood on the Sand already? It's not even out yet!

@mix: Yes, the first 50 Cent game made it into the top 100 or top 50 (I don't remember which) selling games of all time.

Kotaku being wrong twice in one day on rumours and looking ashamed of themself.

Atleast Destructoid only 'nearly?' got shown up once today but quickly buried it.

Kotaku towers is going crazy over both false stories (they must be fed up of fake tips).

The reason most gamers will never give this game a chance has very little to do with the fact that 50 cent is a horrible "rapper".This is a licensed music game that has nothing to do with fucking music! That alone is enough to keep at least a quarter of the game population away, and with very good reason as there has NEVER been a good game about a musician that wasnt about music.

Every article on dtoid that comes out about this game will prove more and more that a lot of this community is made up of unfunny douches who take themselves and their favorite pasttime way too seriously.

Yeah, fuck me for having a sense of humor and not being OUTRAGED by the fact that 50 Cent has a couple of video games or Souljaboy's retarded rantings on Braid. Maybe you should try to take a chill pill, or stop FEELING THE HATE.

Yeah, fuck you. In addition, have a quote from some blog I read recently:

The unspoken sentiment quite a few gamers seem to have is this: "It's just for fun, don't take it too seriously." Which is a reasonable philosophy in spirit, but what exactly is 'too serious' about championing a franchise or challenging a company's decisions, I wonder?

What is 'too serious' and what makes you qualified to decide that someone deserves to be berated for having an opinion? In my opinion, if you're on the internet reading about games you are the last person to be telling someone to 'take a chill pill'. I'm passionate about my hobby, I also don't like seeing a bad rapper portrayed as some kind of terrorist beating hero, is that a problem?

Its a travesty that this looks to come out and Brutal Legend and Ghostbusters are still up in the air.

Maybe I should have expected, the gaming public just loves buying shit.
