Call of Pripyat gets dated (for real this time) photo

Last time we checked in, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat was given a release month: February. Seeing as how that announcement was sent out, what, less than a week ago, today's "news" that the exact North American launch date is February 2 is kind of funny.

I guess the specifics were still being worked out, or maybe publisher Viva Media just wanted us to give this game exposure a second time for little to no reason. Which is perfectly fine, because saying the word "Pripyat" is a load of fun to do.

In preparation, I finally got around to installing Shadow of Chernobyl with the Oblivion Lost mod this past weekend. I think I like this game. No, I do like this game. I'm completely lost and keep dying, but I'm enjoying myself.

Not realizing you can bleed out in-game, I figured "hey, this sleeping bag will restore my health!" And that, my friends, was the first time I died in my sleep inside of a videogame.

I had to give up on Shadow of Cherynobl after running into no less that 3 completely game breaking bugs, on top of all the other minor inconveniences. Is there any promise this time around that we won't be plagued by similar problems?

I'll get it to support the devs, the series and PC exclusives in general, but I haven't even played Clear Sky yet. Too much coming out!

The original was awesome though, for sure.

@sitter san, apparently they hired new testers so hopefully we won't encounter nearly as many bugs as the last two. I've heard that the Russian version was actually playable at launch so there is reason for optimism.

Loved shadow of Chernobyl and am playing Clear Sky right now. I ams stoked to play this iteration and I am very pleased to hear it will be playable on launch! I had to wait a year to get CS to play well.
