Last time we checked in, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat was given a release month: February. Seeing as how that announcement was sent out, what, less than a week ago, today's "news" that the exact North American launch date is February 2 is kind of funny.
I guess the specifics were still being worked out, or maybe publisher Viva Media just wanted us to give this game exposure a second time for little to no reason. Which is perfectly fine, because saying the word "Pripyat" is a load of fun to do.
In preparation, I finally got around to installing Shadow of Chernobyl with the Oblivion Lost mod this past weekend. I think I like this game. No, I do like this game. I'm completely lost and keep dying, but I'm enjoying myself.
Not realizing you can bleed out in-game, I figured "hey, this sleeping bag will restore my health!" And that, my friends, was the first time I died in my sleep inside of a videogame.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
The original was awesome though, for sure.
