It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, but Call of Duty: World at War's multiplayer looks eerily similar to its predecessor, Call of Duty 4. From the HUD, which is essentially unchanged, to the perks, to the minimap -- it's all there.
This might not play well with some of you, but for me, it's exactly what I wanted; sacrificing some level of realism to maintain CoD4's addictiveness and high entertainment value helps me get over the fact that World at War is about WWII.
Oh, and there are attack dogs ... I sure could go for that beta right about now.
the attack dogs are the new helicopter for 7 kills. i guess you get it and 7-8 dogs go around the level killing people for you. seems like it could get REALLY annoying.
It made sense in CoD4 for weapons to be open to both sides...but how does Japanese soldiers fighting with Thompson submachine guns make any sense at all?
And that isn't a negative comment. This could be good, but I don't know how upgrades would work. As far as I know, WWII weapons weren't known for upgrading. That could be backpedaling.
@vexed alex
That's something that's been bugging me as well. I remember that Medal of Honor: Airborne had an upgrade system though, so maybe they'll follow that a little?
i called attack dogs coming to multiplayer last year (check my c-blog)...i also remember emailing one of the guys at infinity ward and he said he thought it was an awesome idea, perhaps they got alot of comments about it and passed it on Treyarch?
Looks surprisingly good. Footage needs more katanas tho! I agree with the previous posters, the attack dogs look like they could get VERY annoying tho!
....yech. I agree with Velt. Looks too much like a CoD4 mod.
Quantum of Solace at least looks different, this could be mistaken for CoD4 itself if you ran a "desaturate" filter through it.
