Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Wii renamed photo

Activision -- or someone with some pull -- has sneakily changed the name of the Wii version of developer Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex. The new name is a mouthful and a mystery. We haven’t the slightest idea why it was changed.

Earlier this morning, CVG spotted the name change in a press release announcing the plethora of videogames coming to the Wii this holiday season. Dated the 15th, the press release didn’t reveal anything we shouldn’t already know: Activision sent us images of the box art a few weeks prior to today with the new branding. We just plain didn’t catch the change.

GameStop.com has changed the name of the on its Web site, and a PR representative was kind enough to give us quadruple confirmation this afternoon when we asked if Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex was the new name. The representative didn’t comment, however, on why it changed.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex is still hitting on November 10th.

Unlike everyone else in the world, I think Treyarch does good with the CoD franchise at times.

So yeah, I've faith.

My guess is Activision thinks that adding a new subtitle will increase sales, make previous players buy it a second time. They're just whoring out the franchise again.

Activision SUCKS!

This game has NO WII SPEAK!

TEN PLAYERS ONLINE!

Jesus, Heroes 2 had 32, I think this game could handle 16, but Activision is lazy.

This game is two years old, is a port, and will be missing lots of stuff such as voice chat.

There is NO excuse at all for no voice chat.

Don't buy this game.

I'm just gonna take this a step further and suggest that Activision be avoided altogether.

Yes, go buy the Conduit or wait till Red Steel 2.

This game will be crap, just made for quick cash.

Skip this game, and whatever else Acty and trey decide to port.

I never understood why someone would want a port of a game that is two years old and will become obsolete once MW2 comes out :/

Conduit did NOT suck.

The PLAYERS over hyped it, not the company.

Blame yourself if you think it didn't live up to your own standards. If that game didn't, then how the hell does WAW?

And if this game is based off of the online like you are saying, then why the hell isn't there wii speak compatibility? Oh yah...they are lazy bastards that just want quick cash.

GO ahead and waste your money on this game, we won't get MW 2 until the other consoles get MW3 anyway...

Reflex eh? Sounds like a...... rail shooter....

But of course, if WaW wasn't a rail shooter, this won't be as well. I suppose if you don't have a PC, an Xbox360 or a PS3, then you might want to pick this up. However, if you do have anything, ANYTHING else that can play COD4, then do so on that. Playing COD4 on the wii won't do the game justice. The Wii is a good system, but this game wasn't originally designed for it.

Hell, go to a friends house and play it on their system if necessary.

Activision,, STOP trying to be the company who saved the wii. You are not that company, and you NEVER will be.

HVS is that company, The Conduit was great (hopefully you haven't thought other wise due to those retarded reviewers that are EVERY WHERE)

They will be bringing The Grinder and Gladiator A.D

All those games are original, wii exclusives with high quality.

Till the day I die, I will remember HVS as the company who saved the Wii.

In my honest opinion,i thought that WaW Wii was 10x better than The Conduit.

The conduit sucked plain and simple. The graphics were okay in some places but most of it was atleast mid-PS2 graphics and in my opinion GT4 looks way better than the Conduit.

The online was so bad i couldn't stop laughing at the crappiest servers ever.

Sorry HVS but i ain't going near the ORIGINAL The Grinder.....oh wait....the grinder.....seems.....like they copied right from the book....Left4Dead. How orginal. Screw em.

Well, this is a quiet through off.

But I guess that they are just going to make a new game combineing both MW games onto the wii, as colateral they are going to give up some multiplayer modes and well voise chat and limit it to 12 players online.

exspect no ctf, no zombies, no full campaines, and not the same plot as COD4

yep...this is not good

the conduit was much more fun in the single player mode, and I was never lost and it was chalanging. COD5 powns the conduit by two points on multiplayer cause you can unlock things, and kill streaks.

I would still recomend both games they are good to rent.

But treyarch will NEVER beat the Grinder. Never.
