50$? Holy shit, I can see their justification for charging extra for this, but not that much. I already feel bad enough paying 60$ for Live. Something like 15-20$ a year would feel more resonable.

I don't play Call of Duty because I don't have the mappacks. I don't have the mappacks because I forget to buy them and they come out too far apart to keep me interested. New maps every month and paying up front for everything would solve both problems.

(finally got up on all this MW3 news) they got my attention again with all this news. Will wait and see if I buy this? I could get one of the 1000 games coming out at the time for that price.
The real question that will make or break this is does having the Premium account give you the Map Packs as if you bought it (so if you no longer have Premium Elite, you can still play them) or will they treat it like Playstation Plus, where once you don't have the service anymore, you can't play the free games?
If it's the former of those two, if someone already knows they are going to buy all the map packs (my girlfriend for instance) Premium would be worth it just for the early access and savings on the map packs.
If it's the latter however, Activision can fuck right off.

By which I mean it should be free-to-play, with a premium subscription (which should be around $20-30) that adds all the extra content you've promised here, allows for cross-platform play, and lets people have the SP campaigns free with a "subscription". You should then allow the free players to purchase new content a la carte rather than through a subscription, charging as much as each piece of content is worth each time and digitally delivering it all through your servers. In other words, if you want to be a subscription service, you should go full-on magazine-style with it, instead of pulling this half-measure crap. I swear to God, you are keeping so many people out by doing it this way. $60 for a new SP campaign and incremental improvements every year, plus $50 a year for Elite, all to "save" $10? I think people will be more likely to save $110 than they will be to do this shit. You are doing it wrong.

Well, realistically this is a lot more value for your money than the map packs were alone. This is probably one of axtivision's more generous moves... Relative to themselves, obviously.
I'm wondering the same thing as funzocks, if you're only buying "access", in other words, renting the maps for the duration of your elite subscription, then that sucks, otherwise it's good news for those that already know they'll get everything once it comes out.

Great value considering you get ALL DLC which will be released once a month~ If you don't want to pay then don't. I have pre-ordered the Hardened Edition which includes a voucher code for a free year of ELITE! Between this and Dark Souls my spare time will be completely devastated...
I'm not at all interested in this but it looks like there's a hell of a lot of value in there for hardcore fans.

Only a $10 saving on buying all the content separately, and no word of what the content will be? No dice. Without any sort of detail that's a a pretty sh*te deal - especially considering all the stuff they're adding for premium users is already available through different avenues if you're a PC user. Maybe for console users, but even then they're getting shafted.
