You see that headline? Sadly, that's all of the real information we have. But allow me to restate it using more words -- Activision has announced plans to released downloadable multiplayer maps for Call of Duty 4. The maps will be available for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, and will "thrust gamers into a hot zone of added combat across a variety of intense multiplayer locales."

Well, I'd certainly hope so.

"We've excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety," said Infinity Ward's Community Manager Robert Bowling, "and we can't wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone."

"Added gameplay variety," eh? We look forward to more details. In the meantime, continue to play all of the old Call of Duty 4 maps as you had already planned on doing ... because the game is awesome. We'll let you know when we hear some actual information.

Ooooh. Me likey. Hopefully they'll either be a) free or b) not as nearly as ludicrously expensive as the Stranglehold pack.

I'm not paying for them. If I have to pay, my 360 will continue to be packed in a box and collecting dust in the cabinet next to my PC.

Had to do some research to find the video relevance. And now I can say...

I see what you did there.

I wonder if they will have some added perks too? I was reading on their forums where kids would suggest new perks and some of them were pretty good. I remember 1 was that some suggested that you after you get a helicopter and then get to 10 kills you should get a German Shepard to run around and bite people...I thought that would be pretty crazy. Can you imagine playing death match and like 5 dogs are running around just ripping people up?

I've been joking with my friends when i got my first red tiger that they were releasing volcano maps to use the red tiger. It would be hilarious if this is what they are talking about....i doubt it though.

Is this worth keeping COD4 for? I was going to trade it in for Mass Effect since I didn't want it to just sit on a shelf and never get played again like COD2. I have such a massive backlog of games and when I'm playing online it's usually Halo 3 or Shadowrun or a Live Arcade title... oh, the dilemmas.
