Caladrius: a 2D shooter with Devil Survivor style art?

Check out the newly launched webpage for upcoming 2D Xbox 360 shooter Caladrius. If you're a JRPG nerd like I am, the first thing you'll notice is ...hey, what are Devil Survivor (Atlus SRPG) characters doing on this page?

Moss and its Raiden IV team are working with Suzuhito Yasuda of Devil Survivor (and manga Yozakura Quartet) fame on Caladrius. Basiscape (Hitoshi Sakimoto, composer of Valkyria Chronicles, Final Fantasy XII) will handle things in the sound department. This should be good.

Poking around the webpage you'll find out that they're not Devil Survivor characters, but look a lot like them. You know -- pointy boobs, stabby hair.

Things are looking nice from the screenshots we nabbed from 4Gamer. It's all vertical and elemental-y and dark looking.

Japanese gamers get Caladrius on April 25. This looks like it would be very easy to localize.

'Dual' is a really cool mobile shoot 'em up that functions over two devices

The other day I ran across a newly released shooter for iOS and Android called Dual. The whole gimmick is that it uses two devices to function, with a screen that spans between them. By forming a tenuous Voltron-esque link you can play two modes, versus and co-op. Although it is a free download, thankfully, only one person needs to buy the premium version ($1.99) to play the latter mode.more

Review: Crimzon Clover World Ignition

Every so often, something will come across my desk that I completely overlooked at the time. Valdis Story: Abyssal City was a perfect example of that. For a while now readers have been asking about Crimzon Clover World Ignition, and I finally set aside the time to play it. That ended up being a good choice.more

The joy of bullet hell

Shoot-'em-ups started innocently enough. Spacewar blasted its way onto computers back in the 1960s, and after Space Invaders was released, the rest was history. Galaga and Galaxian would go on to further popularize the genre,...more
