Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 coming with an awesome gun photo

Activision is bringing Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 on September 29 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. The Wii version is getting some special treatment as it will be packaged with a Top Shot hunting peripheral gun. The Wii version will also see 13 arcade style shooting galleries and four-player multiplayer.

The other new features sound pretty interesting too. There's going to be a system called VITALS where you can see some of the insides of the animals before taking your shot. This picture here shows off the insides of an Elk. Shoot it in the spine!

You guys and gals looking foward to shooting up wild animals for fun?

THE WORLD IS YOUR HUNTING GROUND IN ACTIVISION PUBLISHING’S CABELA’S BIG GAME HUNTER 2010

Big Game Excitement Just Got Bigger!

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – August 21, 2009 – Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) announced today that Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2010 will be released September 29 in North America for Wii™, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. The Wii™ version can be purchased with the innovative Top Shot hunting peripheral, packaged with the game. In Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2010, the player must combine precision, guts, and technology to earn a place among world's most respected hunters.

“We are elevating the first person action hunting genre because it’s what fans demand,” said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. “Skill, extreme danger, real world equipment – you get all of that in Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2010, and it all takes place in stunningly rendered outdoor environments packed with animals that look and act like the real thing.”

In Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2010, players seek “Super Hunter” status aiming to take their “game” to the next level and join the ranks of hunting’s best of the best - a club where it takes much more than tall tales to gain respect. Players must prove their fearlessness and ability by successfully bagging the largest trophies in the world's most rugged regions. The most prized animals can only be reached by climbing cliffs, crossing raging rivers, and facing countless more perilous situations. Brand new elements, such as rewards for successfully using cover to progress through missions and a VITALS system which helps players visualize the perfect shot, promise to make this the most fun and action-packed Cabela’s game yet.

The Top Shot peripheral for Wii adds a new level of realism in heart-pounding hunting adventures – just take a few seconds to load the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ and you’re ready to put the trophy buck of a lifetime in your crosshairs. In addition, the Wii™ version includes 13 arcade style shooting galleries, including 4–person multiplayer.

“Activision's dedication to the hunting genre is real and the Cabela's crowd has responded, year after year,” Bryan Stave of Cabela's. “It has been inspiring to work with them on Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2010 – we can't wait for September!”

Not that I care about any of the Cabela's games, but this is actually a pretty sweet looking shotgun.

Agreed with Dexter. I think it's a good idea to use the nunchuck's buttons for the trigger. Not bad for a hunting game.

This game looks like Pokemon Snap, only you're shooting animals instead of taking pictures of them. It might not be that terrible, actually. I kind of want it for some reason, and I don't even like hunting. Maybe it's just because I like owning obscure games that nobody else has. That's why I own Britney's Dance Beat.

Oh, and speaking of Pokemon Snap, why haven't they made Pokemon Snap Wii yet? That game seems like it would be perfect for Wii.

YES!

KEEEEEP SHOOTIN'!

(I played the hell out of this once upon a time, add alcohol and a bunch of drunk friends and it's positively hilarious.)

Agreed. Pokemon Snap was awesome. As long as it's longer, has more than 40 pokemon * :| * and doesn't have any of the new pokemon characters * Dawn, May, and Max piss me off for some reason.*, it's a recipe for epic success.

If they ever do make a Pokemon Snap for the Wii, which would most likely be titled "Pokemon Snap Wii: Snap Snap Family Party Play Time!" They would be remiss not to include support for this shotgun.

Sounds nice, but this is one of the few gaming instances where I prefer the real thing instead. Deer season in 4 months! Woot!

It is sad that, despite not caring one bit about this game, just seeing that plastic gun makes me want it, so I can own another silly peripheral.

We need more light gun games. This isn't one I'd buy, but at least it's a step to bringing the genre back. I know they died out basically because the technology simply couldn't keep up with modern TVs, but there must surely be a way to get them to work now.

Ha! That first pic of the grizzly about to maul the shit out of the player is great! N00b Hunter. I just hope the deer aren't as fast as the deer in Oblivion. I dont want to have to grind my speed up to catch'em!

I can't wait for someone to use a real rifle and shoot their TV, thinking it would work.

Yes, I have little faith left in humanity.

I usually only like GOOD games, but for Cabela's Big Game Hunter, I make an exception. Especially if it's finally going to offer an arcade mode at home. The stupid ass big orange gun just seals the deal.

And yeah, these screenshots COULDN'T POSSIBLY be from the Wii version, can they? *crosses fingers*

Ok, I want that game so I can use the gun in House of the Dead. Shotgun time!
