EALA's Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight -- the conclusion to the ancient Tiberian saga -- is entering open beta, and as such, you'll be able to give it a spin. So if hardcore RTS is your jam, or you just really like ebony obelisks that fire vibrant red lasers of death, hit up this official link to sign up and be considered.

As announced this morning, the beta will feature four maps ready for 5v5 GDI and NOD destruction. The curious persistent experience system is said to be in full working order in the beta. Even better, EXP will "transition" to the full game when it launches on March 16th in North America -- not a bad deal if you think about it. And you should, because thinking is basically like doing strategy and practice makes perfect.

dude i must say than i admire you persistence at trying to convince that this game is good, far away from the true, let them experiment the desync, disconnecting nightmare than this is, oh and look you have just get inside in a game, good, now let see how your noob team will ruin the entire fucking game for you, pathetic, i don't know why i still playing this thing, might be, because as always, im a die hard C&C fan and even watching this MONSTRUOSITY that dare to use the C&C name on it tittle, i need to at least try it out, and i haven't see a single good thing about it, underpowered units, gamebreaking bugs that every noob do just to piss you and you entire team off, pathetic End-Game units that don't even work the time to be build, and, the game in overall is a shit, i dunno how can EA joy this so much, ruining such a good franchise as C&C was, but seriusly, i DON'T recomment this beta to the ppl, except if you are one of those assh..... noobs i refer to before.

now on topic, did i just read "ebony obelisks that fire vibrant red lasers of death"

LOL hahahhahah i thing you mean: ebony obelisks that fire vibrant PINK lasers of death, yes that's right, here in C&C4 there is a very nice systems for the retards casual gamers ( thats how EA see you guys) than will make a unit shoot PINK shells, lazors, bullets when it attacking the RIGHT unit, or when it counter well, so tell me...... can the C&C franchise fall more than this???

"Even better, EXP will "transition" to the full game when it launches on March 16th in North America"

oh really, wow it just take like 2-4 hours to reach the cap lvl on this pathetic game and this "transition" is supposed to bother us?? seriusly.....

in overall this game doesn't even deserve its name, hope it sells worst than RA3 so EA will let the franchise rest once for all

Now that's a badly put together trailer. Admittedly, RTS games rarely show well in promotional materials, but that's bad even by RTS standards.

Dude, all I said is that I really love this beta. Why are you pulling all this defensive crap on me?

I'm a die hard C&C fan too, but I'm really digging the beta. Also, in all the games I've played I've only experienced desyncing twice and that was two revisions ago. Anyway, you have to grasp that it is a BETA.

Agreed, the trailer is horrible. It's like they saw AVP's "Hunter/Survivor/Prey" slogan and tried to copy it for this entirely uninteresting class mechanic.

Quite apart from that, it just looks like C&C 3. And from the sounds of things, will be laden with the same amount of buggy, imbalanced and entirely un-fun gameplay.

Do not want.

You kind of have to change the way you go about a normal RTS to get enjoyment out of the beta..and the shittiest thing atm is playing against max ranked people when you are like rank 5 or whatever..some of their units completely destroy yours without any way to attack.

Sorry, what the hell was that? It sure wasn't anything resembling any other Command and Conquer game.

Hey, you know what a great thing to do with a beloved and long-running RTS series?

Completely change it and get rid of everything that the fanbase liked about it, turning it into one of these 'scaled-down' RTSes that everyone has been orgasming over since Company of Heroes came out.

Jesus Christ, first DOW and now this. Maybe I've come away with completely the wrong impression from the trailer, but I will be staying well away from the open beta.

I would rather play frigging Force Commander than this oversimplified toy of a game.

StarCraft II was announced in 2007, comes out 2010 (or else I will kill myself slowly and painfully). Diablo III was announced in 2008 comes out in 2011... this all makes very much sense, because Blizzard are bastards that take too long releasing games, but you can't blame them when they make such wonderful games.
Best regards, Anna, CEO of opensolaris iscsi initiator and itunes
