C&C 3 demo now on Xbox Live; are you having issues? photo

When I woke up this morning another year older and another year closer to death, I just so happened to see that Microsoft left a present on my Xbox 360 via a Command and Conquer 3 demo. Now, because I dedicate my life and soul to this site, I haven't actually downloaded the thing yet. But, from what I hear, there are some issues with actually downloading it. From Major Nelson:

Demo's fudged for me too,3 hours still can't get past 30%
Some quality time i've just spent there, downloading nothing
Hopefully its sorted when i try later

Yeah I've had that error 3 times and have had to restart the download each time. Getting rather annoying.

Download keeps hanging.
Man, if this is what happens for a regular game demo, I pity what's going to happen to Live when the Halo 3 beta goes Live...

Anyone else having issues with this highly-anticipated demo?

Nope, I was able to download the demo with no problem at all on the East Coast. One thing that I should warn you guys about though when you finally do get into it is the cursor is SENSITIVE AS HELL!

Can you use a USB keyboard/mouse for it? It seems worthless to play any other way.

I had a a little trouble getting the demo. But that was mostly because my 360 disconnected from XBL a few times during the download. So it made a long download time even longer... But I have the demo now so I'm happy.

Got it downloaded (so does my pal). I'm pleasantly surpised by the controls. It never felt awkaward while playin in an online match. May just have to be purchased.

And to those who will tell me get it on PC let me tell you this. My rig is a stone-age dell that will not be replaced. It types papers, goes to webpages, and downloads porn which is all i need it for. I'm a console man for ease of use and that won't be changing.

Everyone with a brain knows that for an RTS a mouse is even more important than in an FPS, but I'm gonna DL it anyway just to see how they are trying to get the controls to work.

Regardless of what people say, and what excuses they make up, playing a RTS game on a console is just a travesty.
Besides, every single person who actually REALLY did care about this game already finished it on the PC ages ago, like I did.

Downloaded and played it for a while. Hard getting used to using the menus on a console, but it was still reasonably enjoyable.

in an rts... a mkouse doesnt mean shit... its a keyboard mate... a keyboard...
micro is king in rts.

but this game isn't super into micro, it also uses the battle for middle earth 2 control scheme which, apparently wasn't horrible as all hell.

if you can choose between C&C 360 and C&C PC... GET THE PC VERSION.
if you can run directx 9c(64mb video memory) and have something thats near 2 gighrtz you should be fine.

Well I suppose if "everyone" knew that an RTS only works with mouse and keyboard, then we should call EA up right away and inform them of their mistake eh? Honestly this was just as fun as playing an RTS on the PC, probably more so since I can actually relax a bit since all I'm holding is a wireless controller. So long as they don't try to put a whole lot of micromanagement into the game, RTSs work fine on console. Quit your bitchin' and accept what's given to you.
