OK, so here's the process of how you are going to buy a Virtual Console game on the Wii. Now, notice that it shows you what controllers will work for certain titles. I bought F-Zero and even though my Wavebird didn't work with it, when I hooked up a standard GameCube controller, it did. Enjoy!

Tons of good times with SimCity SNES. I remember the billion dollar money code too. Never could get a megalopolis or whatever the highest score was though.

Yeah, I agree with Mabec...can we please stick with more standard memory terms?

The Wii has 512MB of storage right? Which is 524288KB. F-Zero is a 512KB rom. You could, in theory, fit 1024 F-Zero roms in Wii's storage, right? Would you say that F-Zero took up the appropriate ammount of space? I wouldn't...

Oh and, why did it take the thing about 15 seconds to download the 512KB rom? Is Nintendo's online service that slow already, before the common public has even touched it? Little worried here. Downloading OoT and such will be a bitch.

Nice post, Robert. That answers a lot of questions about the VC system, I'm sure. The Mario thing was a nice touch.

is a block a bit ?

All it tells you is blocks for how much space it takes up. I have no idea what the block to byte ratio is, or whatever.

I think I'll work out the block-to-byte ratio some time, I'm alright at math. I have to get my own system, though, and then insert an SD memory card to work with, because I would be able to know more precise info about an SD card than the Wii's internal memory. Or Nintendo could just use regular terms, like everyone else does nowadays.

Remember you also get a virtual playguide.. but that wouldn't take much either

Nintendo wants people to see the Wii as a toy rather than a computer... Hence "points" and "blocks". I have to concur that the little Mario thing in place of a boring loading bar was really neat. I wonder if they have other animations avaliable. Robert?
