Buy Halo 3: ODST at Toys R Us, get toy + gift card photo

By now you've surely read our hot review of Halo 3: ODST and are either thinking, "Man I want to buy that," or "Pfft, Uncharted 2 will be better because BIAS!" If you're thinking the former, then you might want to make your purchase at Toys R Us, where a free action figure and $20 gift card is being offered to each customer.

This isn't pre-order based, so you can just hot-tail it to your local Giraffe emporium on Tuesday and walk away with some neat swag. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.

Toys R Us seems to really be trying to cut into Gamestop's stranglehold on North American videogame retail. Its expanded trade-in program was the first salvo, and if the store starts to offer these kinds of superior deals on a more regular basis, then Gamestop's monopoly could seriously be in jeapordy.

What do you think? Could deals like this help create a bit more diversity in the brick n' mortar retail arena? Where will YOU be buying ODST from?

Shit, that's almost worth it, I had no interest before, but I may be interested now, can drop the $20 toward another game I'm interested in like scribblenauts.

allrighty Jim! there we go much better :D

That toy looks pretty detailed, I wouldn't mind taking a look n see if I can add it to my collection and giving my friend the gift card. I think its a great bargain for future purchase. $20 gift card is very good.

Haven't been at a Toys R Us in years. Will be buying ODST there for I haven't preordered yet and my friends said he'll give me his code for Sargent NeverDies. Firgure looks nice and the $20 will go towards Scribblenauts or Brutal Legend. Does the gift card expire?

Seeing this deal convinced me to buy this game at launch. This is the price it should have been, so I'm glad Toys R Us is offering such a deal.

If I were getting it right on Tuesday then I would most likely want to do it there, being a lover of free crap and all.

Uhh. Yes please. I already pre-ordered the game at Best Buy, but I won't be losing anything if I decide to purchase it at Toys R Us. That just means the gift card will be worth $15 instead of $20 for me.

This trend for getting vouchers when buying new games is awesome though, wish the UK retailers picked up those habits instead of just raising prices.

I don't even have a 360 and I find this to be too good a deal to pass up.

We really need a TrU in my area, the closest one to me is in New Orleans, an hour away.

American Toys r Us sell more than just the plastic Harry Potter bollocks, sandpits, and shitty kids bikes that the English ones have? Mind = blown.
