Buy an entire game store on eBay for $30,000 photo

Damn, you really can buy just about anything on eBay. Today there's a whole freakin' videogame store on the website, priced now at $30,000. So what does your $30k buy? You get either the active store, located in Grand Junction, Colorado, or its inventory. The store has thousands of games for every system as well as accessories, controllers and the shelves and dispalys to sell them on. Apparently there's over $60,000 worth of inventory.

The seller says the Buy It Now price gets you free delivery within 750 miles.

Naturally I'd want to see an inventory list before I plunked down $30,000, but I bet someone bites before it's all over.

Its the exact opposite of that girl who sold her virginity. Now for 30K you can buy yourself guaranteed virginity.

Check out all of those SNES games! O_O
I'm sure that with purchase of the store comes all of the bills and nonsense that go along with it. But I agree with Dale who wrote, "I'd want to see an inventory list" -- same.

That store could be full of CRAP and you'd never know!
... But there could be some rich gamer who probably doesn't even care and will throw money down regardless.

Buy it, remove it's contents, then sell/rent out the empty retail space and get (at least some of) your money back.

if the buying price means you actually own the location, id def be in for at least 20. but if its just a store in a rented space, forget it.

this COULD be dtoids own gamestore. that would be pretty awesome.

I live in Grand Junction and frequent this store. They have an amazing collection of retro consoles and games while their selection of newer games/consoles is lacking to say the least. I'd say 30k is a steal for all the awesomeness in this place. Anybody need a kidney?

This makes no sense. Why wouldn't you buy the store and then sell their $60,000 inventory? You'd make a quick $30k.
Wedge's Avatar - Comment posted on 08/17/2010 01:12

Because actually selling off all that inventory at individual prices and finding buyers for all of it would be massive amounts of work? It's called bulk sales. It makes perfect sense.

Destructoid should do this. Seriously. Everyone that's in Colorado (myself included) could get this off the ground, and make it the world's first community-owned business. (I think.) I'd chip in for this anything I could, and would drive to Grand Junction to help it out once in awhile (I'm in Centennial...bit of a drive, but worth it for an idea like this).

Eventually push it out to other states, and make it a real force. It's a fantastic idea to get started, and would beat the hell out of any other gaming site's ideas.

I am all for that idea.
