With only a few short days until Burnout Paradise gets its next huge add-on, "Big Surf Island", it's about time we heard a little more about the DLC pricing- and content-wise. Thankfully, we have got those exact details from the fine people at Criterion Games.

The price of "Big Surf Island" is $12.99 on PlayStation Network and 1000 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE; about what people expected, I'd say.

The DLC is bringing three silver and seven bronze Trophies to PS3, and five Achievements totaling 110 Gamerscore points to Xbox 360. As expected, these awards range from smashing hidden objects, getting massive air, and more of those lovely Freeburn Challenges. Catch the full list over on Kotaku.

I skipped out on "Cops and Robbers," but this is sounding like a must-buy for the average Burnout Paradise player. Also, Dtoider Vegas has given us a link to the newest episode of Crash TV, which you should watch and ought to thank him for.

EA Invites Players on a Burnout Vacation to Big Surf Island

Extend Your Paradise on June 11 for $12.99

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Criterion Games, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) studio today announced that the Burnout™ Paradise Big Surf Island expansion pack will be available to download for $12.99 on the PLAYSTATION®Network and Xbox LIVE® Marketplace (1000 MS Points) on June 11 Worldwide.

Burnout Paradise Big Surf Island is a brand new playground that enhances and expands the amazing world of the award-winning driving game, Burnout Paradise. Highlights include fun challenges and events for groups of friends to play online, an exciting new world to discover, the biggest and wildest jumps yet, plus a set of nine new vehicles to experience it all in.

Burnout Paradise Big Surf Island also features an Island specific driver’s license for single player progression, challenging players to explore the World, find secret areas and experience a host of new events and challenges.

“Big Surf Island is the most fun players can have in Burnout Paradise and provides incredible value for money,” says Pete Lake, the Big Surf Island Producer at Criterion Games. “We listened to our community and built this massive new playground for them, taking everything they loved about the game and using it to make the Island as much fun as possible. Big Surf Island is packed full of action, everything is bigger and better, from the jumps, to the challenges, to the fun you’ll have playing there.”

Developed at Criterion Games in Guildford, England, Burnout Paradise has won over 55 awards worldwide and is available now for $19.99 on PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system. The game has been rated E10+ by the ESRB and 7+ for PEGI.

My New Goal is to Vertically Takedown someone after jumping off that ramp.

How in the world do they plan to rationalize a ramp of that size inside the grand mythos of Paradise Island?

All I want to do is get to the very tip of the ramp and just fall right off

It's fifty cents cheaper on the 360! Start a fanboy war!

1000 is quite a lot, but since the game is only $20 with a ton of free DLC... we won't complain :)

Look at those two poles holding up the tip of that ramp. There's no way those poles would be capable of holding up the weight of that ramp, let alone the ramp and a car that happens to be driving up it. Driving on that thing is just asking for trouble.

Also, if I can manage to land on the roof of a tall building from that ramp, that would make me very happy.

Those 50 cents more on PS3 means PS3 version is better because they spent more time and money on and it you can unlock Meta Gear Rex in that version.

i suck so bad at stunt runs. i played through the entire game avoiding them up until the final license -- and now i can't get the massive scores they require to pass them.

@DanCiTi
Every one knows that the extra 50 cents on the PS3 version goes to a charity which helps children who have been beaten and neglected by Microsoft employees.

Also, because The Joker is a playable driver.

1000MS points is more than I expected. They already know I'll still buy it though!

I would have preferred 10 bucks, but I will still get this. How can I not?

Meh, the price has turned me off. I passed on the 'Cops and Robbers' wackiness too. I'd rather pay for a new game. Besides, my Burnout addiction has been replaced by UFC Undisputed '09. When I finally do get back to playing Burnout Paradise, the original game is still going to have plenty for me.
