Burnout Paradise might get planes in the future ... *head asplodes* photo

Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever imagined Burnout being anything other than a car game. Sure, they announced that motorcycles will be coming out, but that's a logically addition to spice up the game.

Apparently, that's not enough for Criterion Games. In the latest update on the official Web site, Criterion details some of the free new features coming to Burnout Paradise July 14. There’s going to be quite a few additions so check the site for the full details

After they talked about the Codename Cagney update, they mentioned some of the other DLC they're working on. Criterion teases that they've been "experimenting with planes". Planes! Mother f*cking planes! Sure, this isn't a confirmation of planes coming out for sure, but it's awesome hearing that they've used planes in the game. Can you even imagine how this would work? I can't see how planes would work in a race, but I would just love to ram a plane into a group of on coming cars. That would be so rad.

This kind of support with free content after a game's release is far too rare these days. I might have to check this game out.

Unless it's like the cars from San Fran Rush 2049, I don't see how this would work. Wait, why hasn't Midway made a remake of 2049!? Time to fire up the ol' Dreamcast again.

Do you get the feeling that somebody wanted to do this sort of thing over the last few years, but was too nervous to release a game that featured spectacular plane crashes? Even more so if, say, skyscrapers were involved.

Criterion msut have been sitting around thinking to themselves "HMM, how could we top insane car crashes....INSANE PLANE CRASHES" that is how it happened and this just might be the most awesome game idea I've ever heard.

Hopefully they are included in the update and Criterion isn't just mind-fucking us. I haven't played Burnout since GTA but this would make me break it out again.

How about they incorporate a "Retry" option first?

How about they add more than 2 camera angles to the game second?

Why don't they fix the navigation system 3rd?

They can worry about aircraft after that.
