Burnout Christmas card shows off the new hovering car

As a little gift to gamers, the latest Crash TV podcast is delivering the first gameplay footage of the new Jansen 88 Special car coming to Burnout Paradise in 2009. As we reported previously, the Jansen Custom 88 is the first of four vehicles coming in the next pack of DLC, called the "Legendary Cars Pack." Damn, that thing really can fly.

It's also worth noting that the video features a cute, Burnout take on "A Visit from St. Nicholas." That poem is my favorite bit of holiday cheer ever and no amount of mucking about with the content is ever going to make me tired of it but it's always a dicey proposition when people attempt to use it to promote something. Thankfully, the Criterion guys do a pretty good job.

Obviously, the Jansen 88 Special is based on the modified DeLorean from Back to the Future, but what about the other three "legendary" cars? I think it's fairly safe to speculate that the Cavalry Bootlegger will resemble the Duke boys' iconic General Lee, but I'm stumped as to what the other two might be. Any ideas on what the GT Nighthawk or Manhattan Spirit will look like?

[Thanks, Bfeld!]

GT Nighthawk sounds like it might be KITT (Knightrider, and Kitt was a firebird..)

Manhattan Spirit.. hmm.. ECTO-1?

I'm surprised that they didn't do the Blues Brothers' black & white as one of the cars, what with all the crashing and the chasing and such.

Sargonas, I think you have it nailed. I was just coming in here to posit the exact same theory on KITT, but your idea for Manhattan Spirit makes perfect sense.

Everyone needs to pay full price for this game. New. It's only $30. Support it!

I actually can't wait for the PAID dlc. Burnout: Paradise is a great value, at any price.

I'd rather the GT Nighthawk turns out to be a version of the Batmobile. Ever since the new Knight Rider on NBCrap, the series no longer stands for high-class entertainment.

"Where we're going we don't need roads!"

It became false advertising once the Delorean started to hover and not fly. Still I'm getting this pack once it becomes available.
