Bungie's new IP isn't necessarily an Xbox 360 title photo

As you know, Bungie and Microsoft parted ways late last year. The Halo creators switched gears to become a third party developer, jumping out of Microsoft's pocket and into the open.

We have no doubt that  Bungie is working on some new intellectual properties, but now it seems that they're hinting that they may not be an Xbox 360-only titles. If nothing else, at least alternative platforms seem to have been considered.

In an interview, PR and community director Brian Jarrard told GamesIndustry.biz that they were not restricted to Windows or the Xbox 360 with their upcoming new release.

"We haven't gotten that far yet, to be totally honest. In theory we do have every means to go out and find the right ecosystem, the right partners, to align with. We're very happy with Microsoft, the Xbox 360's been great to us and they're a world class publisher," he added. "So who knows what the future will bring us."

We don't know what Bungie is working on, but after being with Microsoft for so long, it seems natural to want to test the waters elsewhere.

I bet it is... Bungie says a TON of shit.

"We're moving on to bigger and better things no more Halo for us, seriously no more, we left microsoft to do other stuff, not halo, nothing of that sorts. Oh by the way here's Halo 3 Recon." Mmmhmm, that was totally believable

Until I see something flat out 100% confirmed for something other than the 360 I'm gonna bet that Bungie remains Microsoft's equivalent to Insomniac. They're technically independent, but they still ride the back of Sony (in the Bungie case, Microsoft)

If they put a game on PS3, I'd love to see all the fanboys kill themselves from rage-drowning

I would love a PS3 or even Wii title. The Conduit will need a competitor, right??

I can't wait to see all the Sony fanboys wailing about this, if it happens. And then, they'll all promptly go out and give Bungie their money anyway.

They owe Microsoft a few games, but they're such a large company now. I wouldn't doubt they have something in the works that could possibly be multiplatform.

The Halo 3: Recon expansion is being made by a small team. There's no reason to deny they aren't working on something that could come to the PS3 or the Wii.

@elsteveo

Stubbs the Zombie,was developed by Wideload Games, published by Aspyr Media, and built on the Halo engine.

Just FYI-don't wanna tarnish Bungie's image and stuff.

Didn't Bungie used to be a Mac developer? Maybe they'll give the Mac some love with their next game.

It'll definitely be multiplatform, which is a good thing. Also a good thing that they are getting away from Halo, that series has gone pretty stale. Time to see if they're a one trick pony or not.
