I love their marketing. They seem to be one of the few companies to challenge their community, as well as entertain them.

There are extra spartans just lying around in a super-secret cave on Reach. S1= Spartan series 1, since there have been other attempts at spartan birthing. there's 3 or 4 spartans left in the cave, which would make sense in a squad-based shooter.
I may be wrong and my info may be off, but damn that sounds plausible. Plus, how awesome would it be to have 4 spartans?
There WERE Spartans on Reach, but if you remember the novel, the good Doctor and them are transported to a shield world. Also, those Spartans are from the same batch the Chief is from, and are actually his last living squad mates (Chief is most definitely not in the first batch). They are the only real MIA Spartans, as all the other "MIA" Spartans were KIA.
So, yeah. S1 PROBABLY stands for Sector One - that seems most likely in my mind. Spartans have to die eventually.
you're completely right on the shield world part. that seemed to have skipped my mind. You also seem to know what your talking about more than me, so i defer to you. But yeah, my money's still on the MIA spartans as a squad. Their story is still floating in the IP abyss, and this seems as good as any to take the series for a spin.
