Bully coming to steal your lunch money on the Xbox 360 and Wii photo

That's right boys and girls, you're going to be able to take control of Jimmy Hopkins on your shiny next-gen systems this winter. It will essentially be the same exact game with some new content and a new subtitle (as if it didn't have a long enough name already), Scholarship Edition. So, the full name of the game is now Bully: Bullworth Academy; Canis Canem Edit Scholarship Edition.

Nothing else was really announced aside from this small detail. Press release after the jump.

It's great news for anyone who missed the PS2 classic, but what I really want to know is, what's up with Manhunt 2?

[Via HaHaUK -- Thanks Goddfather!]

New York, NY - July 19, 2007 - Rockstar Games is proud to announce that Bully: Scholarship Edition is coming to the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Wii™ home video game system from Nintendo this Winter.

Both the Wii and Xbox 360 versions will retain the wit and deep gameplay of the previously released PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system title and will boast additional new content. Bully: Scholarship Edition takes place in the fictional New England boarding school of Bullworth Academy, and tells the story of 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins as he experiences the highs and lows of adjusting to a new school. Capturing the hilarity and awkwardness of adolescence perfectly, Bully: Scholarship Edition pulls the player into its cinematic and engrossing world. Universally acclaimed upon first release, Bully: Scholarship Edition is a genre-crossing action game with a warmth and pathos that is unrivaled.

Bully received a perfect "10/10" from Electronic Gaming Monthly and 1up.com and was heralded as "a great, well-crafted action game that has one of the best senses of humor around" by IGN.com. USA Today called it "a fantastic debut title by Rockstar Vancouver." The San Francisco Chronicle wrote "Bully has no shortage of creative energy, offering an immersive boarding school experience that is imaginative, funny and filled with surprises."

Come and explore the zealous joy, mirth, and torment of youth with Jimmy Hopkins and Bully: Scholarship Edition when enrollment commences this Winter.

Hopefully they'll at least up-rez the textures and overall resolution for the 360 version. I tried to play the PS2 version and I liked it but the graphics were like sludge.

Glad this is coming to 360. I wanted to play it on PS2, but there was one problem. No PS2 for me.

Played the PS2 version a bit...enjoyable if not amazing. Both the Wii and 360 version could compel me to play more (achievements!)

Woo! A Wii version! Like others have said, with a little luck they'll work on the textures a bit and get them looking nice and shiny for the new versions. That'd be sweet.

As far as 'whats up with MH2', according to GameStop, a release date of October 1st ((or thereabouts, whatever that first Tuesday is)) has been set.

Yesssss. The original made me wish I hadn't sold my PS2. Since I plan on owning a 360 sometime in the next ten years, this is great news. Hopefully Jerk Twitson doesn't get too near to it.

Played it on PS2 and loved it. This game has big potential for really cool achievments. You know there will be one for making out with tons of girls and giving wedgies.

pulling the fire alarm in the school and throwing marbles on the floor at the nearest exit was one of the funniest things i've ever done in a game.

Hopefully they make it much longer. The original, while great, was far too short and lacked replay value. So hopefully the extras really give it a lot more content and game time. The fighting system in this game was also really great, I'm actually hoping it will be implemented into the next GTA, kind of like how Manhunt's sneaking and neck stabbing animation made it into San Andreas, though that was kind of done half assedly.

I have both a Wii and 360, so I don't know which one I'd get it for, most likely the 360, but hopefully it's done well on both consoles.

I going to bet these ports now use RAGE since Renderware was sold to EA.

I've been wanting to play this for a while, but I got rid of my PS2 a while ago (don't ask me why). I hope they up the graphics for the 360 version.

I have a Wii and 360 as well, but I'm an achievement whore so I'll be getting it for the 360(Not at the $60 price point). Odd choice to port to the 360 though...

I played the ps2 version and enjoyed it. I never finished it so I would be willing to get it for 360. For some reason this game seems more compelling to buy then something like R4 for some reason. Probably mainly because it has not been done 50 times somewhere else.

I DESTROYED this game on the PS2, and now with new content, I'll DESTROY it again on the Wii! One of my favorite games of all time. One of the best soundtracks of all time! Can't wait for the sequel. MAKE IT HAPPEN R*!

@ SniperFodder

What's so odd about them porting it to the 360? It was originally set to appear on both the PS2 and XBox, it was however dropped for the XBox because of Microsoft no longer supporting the console. It makes sense to put it on the 360 instead.

I was really bummed when this game was cancelled for XBOX. I sent alot of e-mails to Rockstar Games begging for an XBOX 360 release, I guess they were really listening. I`m pleased...INDEED
