With GFWL in my past experiences you don't néed to register a CD Key with GFWL to create a offline profile.
Offline you can save as much as you want.
Yes Damn I know how GfWL works.
With my past experiences you don't even need to use he CD Key to make a offline profile.
Offline you can save as much as you want.
@bardock, the message is "If you treat us like criminals then that's what you get"
Does anyone know if stamp collecting has DRM?
The game is simply being distributed by EA, this is entirely EPIC's decision...
I wasn't planning to buy it, I was going to wait for a price drop - now I just won't bother period.
Sucky thing for PC gamers :P
I don't know, the pirated version is easily the better version of the two, with no online of any real quality and no real enticement to buy the game I really don't understand Epic's marketing strategy here. All they're doing is making sure people want to pirate the game; buying into horrible DRM will only make the problem worse because companies like Epic will no doubt beleive their terrible DRM systems are effective.
I'm not saying pirate the game; just don't touch it, but you've got to look at the reasons people are stating they'll pirate the game, and not just that they claim they will...this is Epic's own fault in the long run, because it turns legitimate customers like myself away from their products. I want to buy a game, but when I can get a superior version of the same product without mass amounts of loops and conditions needed to play I'm likely to take it.
Especially when Epic pretty much state they couldn't care about my platform of choice anyway; it's like they're begging to have the game pirated so they don't have to make anymore PC versions of their games...
In that case, Screw you too Epic.
Oh and LilFireDK4, piracy isnt "absurd" on PC. If it was, then the last PC game would have been released in what, the 90s?
You people can declare PC gaming is dead for all you want, I'll just keep ignoring you people like I have for the past 5 years.
Besides, if you can afford a decent gaming rig, you can probably find it in your budget to get a console. That's where dumb games like Bulletstorm are meant to be played. If you want the better shooter that IS up to PC game standards, get Dead Space 2 instead.
I understand the mouse and keyboard is better and moving to the dual shock was an unpleasant adjustment for me as well, but that said, Bulletstorm handles the controls very well, not quite as good as Dead Space 2, but definately one of the better controlled shooters with the dual shock that I've seen.
PC gaming is is a much larger pickle which this piece of news is just a small fragment of, and offers no new reason for PC gamer outrage.
"gotta love the "its got drm????? GUESS IM PIRATING" crowd. nothing says "stop treating us like criminals" than acting like a fucking criminal"
You have it all backwards. We're not supposed to be treated like criminals at all, ever. We're the general public. How the hell do you not understand this? I can't say whether it's right or wrong to pirate a game you have 0 intention of ever purchasing. I'm sure you'll develop your own seperate fallacious opinion on that. But don't sit here and act like it's OK for corporations to treat the entire general public like criminals just because a few people said they would pirate it. That's some really stupid logic.
Ever heard of Steam achievements?
@SaintV
GET A CLUE.
@MindDuck
EPIC are apparently as commited as Microsoft to their promises of supporting the PC.
Hey EPIC? You know what? I'm getting Magicka this year. RO2. TW2. GW2. SWTOR. Rock of Ages. Trine 2. Torchlight 2 (this year or next). More of the awesome looking Interstellar Marines. Natural Selection 2. Shogun 2. King Arthur 2. A whole SHITLOAD of Paradox titles.
I don't need you or Microsoft. If you're not going to do a proper PC version then FUCK OFF.I don't want to play your game on PC. I actually have standards believe it or not. Seems people do too, as Magicka is outselling Dead Space 2. An indie game outselling a mainstream game? PC gamers actually want PC games it seems and not consolised games ported to PC.
Oh, and none of you would be getting Bulletstorm if PCF hadn't made Painkiller ON PC.
You wouldn't be getting Crysis 2 if Crytek hadn't made Crysis ON PC.
Think about it.
Try to read this.

"Fine, screw yourself out of what looks like a pretty interesting game and screw over the developer which had nothing to do with the DRM. Silly, silly boys."
lol. Yes, we're screwing ourselves out of what looks like a mediocre experience at best because we're sick and tired of our platform getting fucked over because of executives' horrible logic. ("Hey, I know.. those bees keep stinging me.. so I'll poke that fucking bees nest with a stick, aka DRM!")
I feel for People Can Fly, but don't act like it's the CONSUMER that's fucking them over. That's idiotic. It's EA that buried their chances of making a profit off of the PC crowd. I have no idea how you became indoctrinated into thinking that Corporations are a bunch of great guys and the rest of humanity are the bad guys.. but you need to snap out of it. It's the Publishers job to create incentives to the public to buy their product. They failed at that. Why are you blaming anyone else?
The only good PC games are Solitare and Bejeweled.
Im not getting it now
Copy protection broken before game hits store shelves. Crackers laugh, customers cry, EA surprised.
So GFWL is a bit clunky... If it stops pirating twats having it for free then i'm all for it.
What was the last statistic? Like 50% of 360 gamers(for example) don't have an internet connection if I remember right?
I'm sure everyone in the world's connection is perfectly stable 100% of the time. /SARCASM
I CAN'T EVEN USE GFWL BECAUSE IT'S NOT EVEN SUPPORTED IN MY COUNTRY. HOW ABOUT THAT.
This stupidity is boiled down to "Lulz doesn't affect me so why should I care". Guess what? There are many people who don't have the perfect internet connection and who can't or refuse to use the broken, yes let me repeat that, BROKEN GFWL.
"Why are you blaming anyone else?"
Because a certain subset of people in these comments (not naming names, or generalizing, you can read back through and see what I mean) are a bunch of sniveling pseudo-activists. For example, the guy that spouted off some nonsense about refusing to buy the 360 version because he "supports PC gaming." Foolishness.
People take themselves way too damned seriously sometimes. Yeah, the DRM is stupid, but it's no reason to start spouting off hyberbole and taking to the streets with pitchforks. Lets not act like this is anything new. Many games aren't even getting PC versions at all anymore (Gears of War 2, anyone?) and those that are, get retarded DRMs. Welcome to the brave new world of PC gaming. You brought this on yourselves. S
uck it up and buy the game and deal with the DRM, or ignore it/pirate it and make sure no one gets PC ports anymore. Whatever makes you happy. Just stop acting like this is a cause worthy of a million man march. It's just typical corporate bullshit and all this crybabying is making the community look petty.
1.0)Wait for pirates to crack it
1.5)Wait for price drop (Optional but recommended)
2.0)buy it
3.0)use crack on legally purchased game
4.0)enjoy without the DRM hassle
Enjoy not playing a cool game because you're a rebel fighting the system. I admire your resolve and your....holy fuck I just realised that within a month I'm going to be shooting people in the arse and having a metric shit tonne of fun....sorry, what was I saying?
Nevermind.
So...not true i guess
Persistent internet connection is something that bothers me. On one hand I think of it just like how PC game requirements have scaled up, it may seem feasible to put an additional cost to your essential "requirements." On the other hand, I don't see what this really accomplishes much further beyond other companies that are very successful but restrict their online presence to when the player says they want to go online.
It'd be better to just not buy the game and write to EA and People Can Fly and Epic and Microsoft as to why you're not going to buy the game. Maybe then they'd stop doing this when they realize that not only are they losing money, but people aren't playing their games as well, and they could change the way they handle DRM.
But nope, let's just pirate and force em to put even more restrictive DRM, or better yet, stop releasing games for you in the first place. It's like the Sonic Cycle. But with more stupidity and butt hurt.
I swear, some of you must be the same people who cry out for Hardcore Wii games but when they show up you don't buy them/you pirate them/you call them shit for no reason other than to hate on it because it's not on the 360/PS3.
I might just buy this on my PC from the GFWL Storefront at full price to spite you all. I know it would make you PC gamers very angry, don't lie.
