Brutal Legend DLC 'Hammer of Infinite Fate' announced photo

A second piece of Brutal Legend DLC is slated to hit PSN and Xbox LIVE soon -- as in December 17th, soon. Dubbed “Hammer of Infinite Fate,” the content adds several new Eddie Riggs outfits, a few item upgrades, and four fresh multiplayer maps. Sounds f'ing metal, right? Below are some quick-hits.

  • The three new outfits for Eddie Riggs are as follows: Mountain Man, Black Metal, and Zaulia Threads. Seven more back patches and even new paint for the Deuce are coming as well.
  • Those having trouble locating all the serpents should be pleased with the “Oculus of the Lost,” one of the new items introduced by "Hammer of Infinite Fate." The Oculus operates like a GPS, pointing out the locations of these numerous and sometimes well-hidden stone beasts. (Sorry, GameFAQs.)
  • Purchasers will also be able to get their hands on three fresh (and sharp) weapons: the Eye of Sorrow, The Disgorger, and the Coiling Maw.
  • New Achievements and Trophies.
  • And finally, the four new maps are: the Altar of Blood, Coiled Remains, Crucible of the Titans, and the Amplified Cliffs. All of which will supposedly pack an “in-game element of surprise,” according the official release.

The DLC is slated to hit at 480 Microsoft Banana Dollars over Xbox LIVE and around five bucks ($4.99) over PSN, which seems like a rather rad deal. How many of you are interested in this?

If the DCL $5 on PSN shouldn't be 400 ms points on xbox live?

@sheppy
I doubt BL made that much of a splash.

I'm happy they're still supporting the game and all but when I said I wanted single player DLC I meant, like, episodic content.

Too bad the multiplayer was kind of mediocore.

When are you porting it to PC, EA?

It's sad this game is relatively forgotten already: then again, it wasn't that great.

I'm mostly willing to get it because 5 dollars isn't that much compared to the investment of buying the actual game.

But new maps and some costumes and a "fix" for something that I just look up online (finding the serpents) is just a rather disappointing pack of DLC. New weapons? For single player, it doesn't really matter. For multiplayer, they probably won't be available.

The trophies are probably the best feature to the DLC, and I'm not a huge trophy person.

I really love this game, but multiplayer dlc doesn't do anything for me. I'd love to see additions to the single player story. That'll never happen though, as getting back all the voice talent would be a nightmare. I'd settle for the entire soundtrack being released on cd. That's also difficult, but not too difficult in the long run.

Eh this will be like all other Schafer Games.

Small, Hardcore Fanbase. Much like Grim Fandango....

Now if only BL had the sort of Awesome Single Player Storyline GF did...

@shizknight Seriously, I really like Brutal Legend, but I simply don't play the multiplayer. Add more to the singleplayer campaign, open up a whole new section of map or something. I'd shell out for that.

Sounds like decent add-on stuff, but even as a pretty big fan of the game, I'm not gonna buy it. Deny Everything is right on the money: there's nothing here that demands a purchase.

I'll be grabbing it... kind of weird that some of the trophies made it sound like there was single player stuff. Still, lots of good stuff for not a huge price.

Other games have (sadly) overtaken my love for Brutal Legend as of late. But I think this DLC will get me back in for at least a short while.

If we could get some more single player action/adventure missions, I'd pay for that.

Releasing the soundtrack with the licensed tracks would be a nightmare, but you can get the background music stuff and Girlfriend - Kabbage Boy on the official soundtrack. Not quite what anyone was looking for, but eh, it exists.

I guess I'll be getting this, just to get that last damned Serpent I apparently missed. Was hoping it'd be free on PSN again, but could be worse.

@ Sheppy - he seems to actually play the Xbox more than the PS3, if you look at his Twitter.

Hopefully it'll also coincide with a patch for the multiplayer...
