Despite the fact that everybody loves to shoot a Nazi, I can't help but mentally gloss over World War II games. Because of this lack of attention, I must confess that Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway has mostly existed in my world as a mere name that has intermittently cropped up over the last ten thousand years. Funnily enough though, as I watched the above trailer and finally paid some damn attention, I have to say I'm actually, finally, interested.
Gearbox says the things I like to hear, and I am loving the attention to character depth that seems to be going into Hell's Highway. Watching some of these chaps talking about the characters, you can tell there's an actual fondness there. The developers are clearly proud of the soldiers they've created for us, and that's a promising sight.
Only thing that confuses me is the claim that some of the characters are "based on an actual guy ... but we've changed the name and created our own personality." So ... they've based a character on a real person, but changed every last detail about them? I don't quite see how that works, but then again, I'm no historian.
Good looking game though.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Still the game seems to be doing a lot right.
Why don't they just write a short novel instead as I see no gameplay and poor voice acting with really bad animation and lip synching.
I remember when this game was gonna come out for gamecube...
PATHETIC, ITS STILL GONNA SUCK.
