Aurain nobody is saying they want only positive comments, there's nothing wrong with negative criticism, if it's constructive and at least suggests how to improve too. I'm not saying that just for this podcast, it's how I treat things in general.

Of course we're ok with critics, but just saying, "THIS IS A SHIT! PUT JIM ON" isn't helping us very much.
Last week people complained about echoing in the background, that should be sorted out.

BritToid is only three episodes old which in the bigger picture is nothing at all, even more so for a podcast which is currently being released on a monthly basis. Podtoid had well over 100 episodes on us and I implore any of you to go back and listen to episode 3 of their podcast, the difference is outstanding. This podcast, like all others will grow and develop over time, these things always do. Every week we look at new ways to record and edit. We look at what to say and how to say it, we look at the equipment we use and how we use it, so on and so forth.
Destructoid.com is a massive website with a huge readership. Bringing a new podcast to such a big site is always difficult, even more so when a podcast of such a similar vein has already been before us. We simply cannot please everyone and nor do we expect to, such are the facts of life.
The cast for BritToid were all European members of Destrcutoid who showed a passion for gaming and a love for this community, however most of them are unknown to the wider community and these early podcast are the perfect way for the audience to get to know them, we understand you cant all like us. On that note Jim Sterling is a fantastic writer, person to work with and is excellent on any podcast he graces, however Jim does not live in England and has nothing to do with this podcast. It's kind of embarrassing to me to have people say "This is shit, put Jim Sterling on", especially as I am friends and/or co-workers with some of the people on the cast.
As a Dtoider, and as a Brit, I'm really glad we've got a BritToid podcast. I've only listened to bits of the other two and enjoyed what I heard, but am downloading this one as we speak, well, as I type.

I'm afraid I shan't be downloading this episode, having listened to the first two. There are some pretty annoying voices in there with too many 'awkward' moments where you guys just aren't 'melding' together very well.

I've not listened to it yet, but after the first 2 I'm hopeful for where it's going. I listen to a lot of different podcasts, so I'm familiar to the period of time it takes to get used to all the different voices and personalities before it can be appreciated properly. It's fantastic to finally have some fine folks working on another brit podcast for the site. I'll look forward to when some of the community stops acting like spoiled children.

Improve the production (content's fine) - I'd like these to be shorter (nearing 2 hours is hard to listen to all in one go), get everyone's mike levels the same, and snip some awkward pauses.
Apart from that, keep it up. You guys know your stuff, unlike half the gaming shows you used to get on TV.

As a fellow Brit it is refreshing to hear a podcast that isn't talking about American topics like Gamestop And have dscussions about things I care about, like how we always get screwed with pricing (although that's not all that great). It would be a shame for ths show to die so early in its life, and every podcast starts off a little rough, before the people involved start to grow into the podcast role and the show itself gets refined. Sure, it may not be perfect right now but nothing is ever perfect this early. Give it some time and it will become a high quality podcast. I hope. :P
People are being WAY to picky about BritTOID. Of course mic and flow issues are there, but I honestly can't understand why it would matter to anybody; you get to listen to people with strange accents talk about video games. What more could you expect, nay, want?
I would suggest that BritTOID turn into a biweekly podcast, and maybe shorten them to somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half. I think the Podcast would be able get into its groove faster and the DTOID audience would able to get to know the BritTOID crew better if podcasts were coming out more often. Every week seems like a lot to ask, but I think 2 a month is acceptable.
And as an aside,
Anybody who thinks Seito shouldn't be on the podcast because of his voice is can fuck themselves. It was distracting for about the first 15 minutes of the first podcast. If you're so irascible that you can still be annoyed by someone's voice after listening 2 hours of conversation, you have to be the most obnoxious person to be around in the real world. Shouldn't what they bring to the conversation be basically the only concern?

And despite my clear bias of being in love with all the cast members, I like the show and agree that judging a podcast solely on the first few episodes is foolish, they mature like a fine wine. There are very few shows that work perfectly within the first couple of episodes.

Yeah, the U.S. has piss-poor game magazines. Maybe it's the ads that appear in every 2 pages, but game magazines here, at least the "mainstream" ones just feel empty, in content and confidence. Toilet paper in color, practically, but maybe that's just me. I just can't give a shit what they say in them anymore.
