Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to BritToid, Episode 3! We are Destructoid's British-gaming-focused podcast that brings you some of Britain's finest (plus one German) accents and all the biggest news from the UK.
Listen this month as we kick off with the never easy to answer question of "what is your favourite game" as we all try to explain/justify our choice (I also may or may not descend into a hissy fit). We follow it up by taking another look at the UK sales chart, only to find we have no surprises that 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa continues to sell well, despite the robbery followed by a sexual assault that was England's exit.
We move swiftly onto the banning of the R4 in the UK, which of course none of us would ever own. We take a look at the Xbox 360 Slim which happens to be selling well in the UK despite the brutal pricing for Kinect. We end the show on Seto's orders as we take a look at the developer awards only to finish off by discussing the end of top PC magazine PC Zone.

Also, Why would Kinect's pricing have an effect on the sales figures of Xbox360 slim. They're not a package deal or anything like that. An inane subject.

Last week people complained about echoing in the background, that should be sorted out.
People also complained about levels not being perfect, we work on that and it should be better.
If there's anything else we can do, we will! This is our baby, we want it to be perfect and we want you to like it.
As for the show, 60 seconds in and you guys let all your dorkiness hand out, and I love it!
Actually, I would find it quite helpful/constructive. It's a very clear, unambiguous suggestion on how to improve the quality of talk on said podcast.
"What is your favourite game?" isn't exactly cutting edge, is it?
Destructoid.com is a massive website with a huge readership. Bringing a new podcast to such a big site is always difficult, even more so when a podcast of such a similar vein has already been before us. We simply cannot please everyone and nor do we expect to, such are the facts of life.
The cast for BritToid were all European members of Destrcutoid who showed a passion for gaming and a love for this community, however most of them are unknown to the wider community and these early podcast are the perfect way for the audience to get to know them, we understand you cant all like us. On that note Jim Sterling is a fantastic writer, person to work with and is excellent on any podcast he graces, however Jim does not live in England and has nothing to do with this podcast. If you want Jim then please listen to the ELectric Hydra podcast, you won't find him here.
Now you can either stick with us and help us grow or just bail out now, but BritToid will continue to develop and change as the time goes by. we appreciate all the help the community gives us, both the positive and the negative as long as it is constructive. If anyone wants to talk to me in more detail about how they feel then email me, hollie at destructoid.com but I assure you, talking like this in the comments, whether it is from community members or staff, does nothing to help anyone.

If you love Jimbo that much (i know, I know, he IS the Perfect Lifeform) that you want him on every single podcast you ever listen to, well, uh, maybe you should get some help.

Apart from that, keep it up. You guys know your stuff, unlike half the gaming shows you used to get on TV.
I would suggest that BritTOID turn into a biweekly podcast, and maybe shorten them to somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half. I think the Podcast would be able get into its groove faster and the DTOID audience would able to get to know the BritTOID crew better if podcasts were coming out more often. Every week seems like a lot to ask, but I think 2 a month is acceptable.
And as an aside,
Anybody who thinks Seito shouldn't be on the podcast because of his voice is can fuck themselves. It was distracting for about the first 15 minutes of the first podcast. If you're so irascible that you can still be annoyed by someone's voice after listening 2 hours of conversation, you have to be the most obnoxious person to be around in the real world. Shouldn't what they bring to the conversation be basically the only concern?

And despite my clear bias of being in love with all the cast members, I like the show and agree that judging a podcast solely on the first few episodes is foolish, they mature like a fine wine. There are very few shows that work perfectly within the first couple of episodes.
Yeah, the U.S. has piss-poor game magazines. Maybe it's the ads that appear in every 2 pages, but game magazines here, at least the "mainstream" ones just feel empty, in content and confidence. Toilet paper in color, practically, but maybe that's just me. I just can't give a shit what they say in them anymore.
