Bethesda Softworks has announced that its upcoming first-person-shooter Brink is going to hit shelves a week earlier than planned, with North America receiving it on May 10 and Europe getting into things on May 13.
"Production wrapped on Brink earlier than we planned and we didn't see any reason to keep gamers from getting their hands on this highly anticipated game as soon as it was ready," said marketing lord Pete Hines. "It's apparent from the tremendous reaction so far that people are eager to jump online and play, and if we can make that happen earlier -- we're going to."
North America and Europe originally had May 17 and May 20 as release dates, respectively. Since I can barely contain my throbbing, wretched, red-raw maggot-boner over this game, the early release is rather good news for yours truly.
Brink looks like it might kick arse. Looking forward to finding out.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Bethesda isn't exactly known for heavily testing their products for bugs, so I'm waiting on this game for a bit more information.

@Elsa No demo.
This is bad, the game was gonna come out the same day my exam ends but now it comes out when they start. So gonna fail my final year. Damn you bethesda.
I too am getting that same feeling about Brink. I hope I'm wrong, but I kinda know what he means about bad "vibe". :(
Also, who cares if it has a patch out of the gate? What are we, living in the late nineties still?

Probably also has something to do with LA Noire. Might not have as much fanfare and hype as a typical GTA, but anything from Rockstar is going to screw over any other game trying to compete.
Honestly, I wish we were.
I don't have the time or money for all the games this year!
I hope you're saying that coz you agree that the money grubbing publishers are simply just to willing to push out the game rather than concentrate on how they can make it the best it can be, without having to fix issues after release. I know I'm not crazy when I say how fucked up it is that developers and publishers alike are doing this on a fairly constant basis to reap the most profit.
As for Brink, I'm really hoping for Bethesda to pull through on this one. I've been desensitized to shooters over the years, but still, I'll wait for the first reviews to make a call.
