Brink is well on the way to looking like my idea of the perfect online shooter. The character customization, the range of abilities, and the focus on wearing badass masks speaks to me on every level. In other words -- Brink makes my pussy slick.
This new trailer shows off some of the aforementioned abilities. Hacking, self-resurrection, and all sorts of weaponry should provide enough for all sorts of players to find their niche.
Is anybody else as stoked as I am, or is it just me?

Meet the rest of the team
Damn, the character running abilities look like mirror's edge... To me it's what that game would be if had a battle-focused multiplayer... THAT would own any other FPS.
I agree with the excitement for Mirror's Edge-esque first-person platforming mechanics. The character animations remind me of the old Timesplitters games and the style is a pleasant mix of realism with the environments and a Team Fortress aesthetic. Looks awesome.
I been waiting for what seems like an etenity for this game.
My gut tells me this will be a game that really resonates amongst the most discerning of gamers. Especially if team dynamics factor as heavily into the gameplay as has been suggested up to this point.
These fuckers made me wait in line for over two hours at PAX East to attend their party, and then once inside, had no alcohol or bar.
They had pizza and soda.
Is this fucking junior high school? I'm not buying the game, because 1) that shit, and 2) they were out of tickets to play the game after I waiting in line that whole time. I cannot explain how angry people were at that event. Horrible fucking PR.
So stoked. Been a Splash Damage fan since Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.. mmm... Quake Wars was interesting, but I do think that getting rid of the vehicles was a good idea for Brink.
Their forum says "Brink releases on May 17, 2011 in North America and May 20, 2011 throughout the rest of the world."
Sorry to hear they screwed up on the event. Can't fault them for the pizza and soda, but not lettin' you play is a huge blunder with a predictable outcome.
Fortunately for me, I wasn't there, so I can't wait. My pre-order has been in for over a year. The release date is May 17, 20, and 26th, depending on your region.
I actually just blogged about this the other day. I can pimp it here because it is a DToid Community blog.
Why do some of the animations look so janky? The "getting shot" animations are silly and they go from "flerp derp" jerking around to laying on the ground when they, presumably, die.
I'm becoming more and more interested in the game... though frankly the facemasks remind me of SVER in MAG and I HATE SVER! Oh... and it's not really true "character customization" if you can't pick gender.
I'm also not sure if I like all the perks... I'm not a huge fan of perks.
Still... the game does seem interesting!
I really want a handsome guy though, bishi even. Why do all the guys have to look like apes and/or racist stereotypes of Europeans and the like? Aesthetically, that is my only complaint. Customizing will be aaaaammmaaaazing! The movement and SMART system look good too and I hope it handles as well as it looks.
I think this game will be pretty awesome. I have been excited since it was first announced. I am somewhat worried that it might be a little watered down. I mean I am worried it might be to simple and not have a lasting appeal.

OT: I am still deciding if I want this game or not..could be good. I'll wait for reviews
Its about time theres a multiplayer shooter to replace my addiction for Bad Company 2.
I'm trying to decide between getting this or L.A. Noire. They both look so good.

Otherwise, yeah, looks neato.

This game makes me happy in all kinds of confusing ways. Makes me regret skipping out on all those Life Skills classes back in school.

Still though, I'm quickly getting very interested in this game.
