Brilliant: Wii Party comes bundled with a Wii Remote photo

Today Nintendo has announced that its upcoming Wii party title, cleverly called Wii Party, will ship with a Wii Remote. Yes, every copy of the game will come with an accessory that, alone, would cost you $39.99 on its own, will come bundled with a $49.99 game.

This is rather brilliant on Nintendo's party, really -- games like Wii Play and Wii Sports Resort were among the top selling titles of 2009, arguably due to the fact that they came bundled with a required accessories. It's also a great deal, even if you intend on throwing the game in the trash after a few days. That's not to say that Wii Party won't be quality entertainment, with 13 game modes like Bingo, Friend Connection, and Globe Trot.

Wii Party is out in North America on October 3 and Europe on October 8.

....I still don't want it. I'll be playing Metroid, DKCR, and Kirby though.

(I hate comments like that. I'm sorry.)

Well, you can't say Nintendo doesn't know how to target their biggest audience. Should be fun for the kids, I got Other M to satisfy me for now.

Another 20+ million seller confirmed! Nintendo is so smart. They're releasing this a full month ahead of Kinect, to suck up all those casual dollars before Microsoft even gets Kinect out the door. Not to mention that they have Just Dance 2 coming from Ubisoft to combat Dance Central a full two week before its release. So like it, or not, Nintendo knows the casual market and they're not going to give it up without a fight.

Already knew this, but didn't know they would be giving consumers the option of missing out on a 10 dollar wii remote.

Huh. Looks interesting enough to warrant a purchase. I need another Wiimote anyway, and ten bucks for a game ain't bad.

Unlike wii play, wii party may be worth 10 dollars. Therefore I may consider this (considering it looks better than every Mario party since the n64)

Bingo, Friend Connection, and Globe Trot? I'd rather save $10 and just get the wiimote.

I'm okay with a party game. I LIKED the mario party games until the wii. (seriously, 4:3 with a grey patterned border?)
Granted, imagine how much $$ a company has to be pulling in to be able to give away a 40 dollar item in what is assumed to be a 'full fledged game' when battle rev is still like 9960.00 dollars.

this justifies this game to me. dunno if I'm gonna buy it, but it's definitely a smart thing to do.

It's a great idea if you need an extra Wiimote, you can get one plus a game with a few dollars.. and considering the fact that Wii Party is a spiritual successor of the mario party series, it will sell like hotcakes.
